Naval base by the Naval Hospital that had the 5th floor that was nicknamed the “nicholson wing” since it was said many of the mental health patients who wound up there came from DD 982 -Nicholson.
Based on my time there, that ship was a floating insane asylum for the most part.
Was afraid you were speaking of Air Force Base. Is near Patriots’ Point. Glad was not Air Force Base and any Base Closure is one too many in my humble opinion. Did not know Naval Base was shuttered. Thank You for the information.
