Ron Paul group to defy IRS [IRS demands Ron Paul's list of donors]
Washington Examiner ^ | April 15, 2014 | BY JOEL GEHRKE

Posted on 04/15/2014 4:18:11 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Ron Paul's nonprofit Campaign for Liberty will fight the Internal Revenue Service's demand that it reveal its donor list to the agency, despite having already been fined for refusing to do so.

"There is no legitimate reason for the IRS to know who donates to Campaign for Liberty," Megan Stiles, the communications director at Campaign for Liberty, told the Washington Examiner in an email on Tuesday. "We believe the First Amendment is on our side as evidenced by cases such as NAACP v. Alabama and International Union UAW v. National Right to Work. Many 501(c)(4) organizations protect the privacy of their donors in the very same way as Campaign for Liberty. For some reason the IRS has now chosen to single out Campaign for Liberty for special attention. We plan to fight this all the way."

Ron Paul suggested that the group will refuse to pay the IRS fine in an fundraising email to supporters about the agency's request for information.

"Paying this outrageous extortionist fine — just to exercise our rights as American citizens to petition our government — may even be cheaper in the short run," he wrote. "But it’ll just embolden an alphabet soup of other federal agencies to come after us." Paul's email said that the rule requiring that 501(c)(4)s list their donors is "rarely enforced."

Stiles accused the IRS of trying to silence her organization...

Do me a favor, don’t stalk, and don’t ping me to a thread I’m not on.

The IRS is a state-sponsored terrorist organization. I’m backing Paul on this one.

So now you want to hijack Jim Robinson’s thread by stalking someone because you carry a grudge from some distant thread, you even pinged another.

Evidently I’m supposed to go search your posting history and find a time when you disagreed with me about something, so that we can continue that discussion on this thread.

I think that is why FR doesn’t like stalking, and people carrying personal grudges from one thread to another.

I really don’t agree with Ron on many things, but when it comes to Constitutional issues, I do.

Me too.

And I’m trying to think of the other issues that (in terms of politics and elected officials) that are as important as the Constitution.

geez - for being a sheepdog, youve sure acted sheepishly by not bashing Jim as an abortionist for even referencing Paul

no stalking whatsoever - you seem to participate in Paul threads or hijack any other thread into a anti libertarian commentary - thought you might want to do the dsame here as I was thinking you had brass ones

guess not

Yeah, it’s called stalking and trying to hijack a thread,

Since you keep pinging a buddy and insisting, why don’t you post whatever post of mine offended you from another thread, and we can just drag that thread into this one.

While you are pinging Ron Paul allies to help you, why not find the freepers at the Ron Paul Daily?

“Free Republic.com Censors Ron Paul supporters”
“I called and talked directly to the owner of the website ,Jim Robinson. He told me my posting privilege had been revoked because I was a Ron Paul supporter. He then hung up on me.

This site freerepublic.com has the whole page filled with constitutional quotes, there is even a picture of Rand Paul on there. It says it is a Tea Party site. The horrible fact is that it is a neo-con infiltration of the Tea Party. I e-mailed Jim Robinson telling him he should remove all reference to the constitution since he does not believe in the 1st amendment( freedom of speech).... He was very nasty saying he did not care, called all Ron Paul supporters Paultards and said we could all boycott his site if we didn’t like it. Spread the word...This site is a fraud...”

Awww it couldn’t happen to a nicer liberal than Paul

/JOKING!

Yeah, the IRS has shown itself to be baldly partisan and guess what, it even hates Ron Paul. Actually the IRS might have better reason to hate Ron Paul than to hate Ted Cruz! Paul is putting government shrinkage first. There would go the need for a lot of the IRS. Down the old toilet.

We won’t EVER find a perfect human to run for office in this mortal coil. We have to make choices between various kinds of imperfection. Personally, I think when the tax rate is four times what God wanted to alarm the Israelites with when they were clamoring for a king... government STEALING (spending for things outside its proper mission) has become a HUGE issue. And Paul is the only one so far to significantly bell that cat. I wish the entire Tea Party would jump on board.

That’s a “Paul nut” — not Paul.

There are some people who read license into liberty. That’s going to be a problem as long as there are sinners. But I got news for ya — that does not make liberty into an evil thing. To illustrate by analogy: Gasoline is not an evil thing and yet it can be used to make evil bombs and commit evil arson and even fuel evil getaway cars.

The solution is not to cheer America on towards a nanny hell. It is to do the thing the sheepdog seems to hate — EVANGELIZE. Tell why Jesus Christ is astounding good news. Don’t slap a band-aid on sin; excise the cancer.

Amazing, you guys really do want to hijack this thread and stalk as you rehash your tired old defense for social liberalism and the libertarians, and the Paul’s

Amazing, you want to keep spouting your same old lies, which you do like clockwork whenever your button is pushed.

You think that ignoring stealing is going to help your quest to abate any other evils?

For some reason your post doesn't line up with your true views from other posts

No, I'm just pointing out the total, rank hypocrisy of FR.

Bet if this was a Republican administration IRS targeting Paul's supporters, FReepers would be hi-fiving each other.

There are some things worse than Ron Paul

Yeah, like the Chris Krispycremes and Jebberish Bushes that the majority of FReepers salivate over.

First you think Freepers cheer the IRS attacking Ron Paul and then state the majority of Freepers salivate over Christie and Bush? I take it you are here to attack Freepers, correct? Have you ever heard of the word ZOT?
