It's been a long suspicion among some local meteorologists that the thermometer at the airport has been running a bit warm over the past few years, frequently reporting temperatures 1-3 degrees warmer than surrounding sites. NOAA went and replaced the thermometer and then, as if by magic, Sea-Tac's temperatures have been more in line with surrounding neighborhoods.

Charles Clough said a little while ago that the thermometers are NOT calibrated (he’s a weather guy at Edgewood).
The Tigers/Indians game tonight has been postponed on account of it being freakin cold.
Its 34 degrees right now but it is expected to get down into the low 20s tonight.

repeated again and again where ever local temperatures are being collected, globally (like next to air conditioner outlets), and warmer by X degrees centigrade, for surface temperatures globally, would likely become -X degrees centigrade globally
When you put the thermometer next to the taxiway, and it gets blasted by jet exhaust, the temperature seems to show things being a little on the warm side.
How much you wanna bet that they used similar thermometers to gather data to prove global warming.
And they stick them right in the middle of the city in a blacktop parking lot, in the middle of the summer.
I remember going to an Indians game at Cleveland Municipal Stadium (the old one down by the lake) when it was snowing. The game went on.
Heh. Near Atlanta, the biggest lake was running dry while the crew controlling the dam insisted nothing was wrong because their depth gauge said it was full. After months, they replaced the gauge - and golly, they declared the lake was running dry.
Putting the thermometer beside the Starbucks AC exhaust was a bad idea.....................
Why calibrate the instrumentation as long as it's giving you the data that fits your ideology?
And how many more of these are going into the global warming data sets?

Changing the climate (at least the reading!) by
Changing the thermometers!
Total BS.
And no one is holding them to task. And they are supposed to be SCIENTISTS!!!!
From now on they will only replace thermometers that have results that don’t support their scam of GoreBull Warming (thanks mtn man).
Not to worry! All of climate models will be “corrected” to deal with the “anomaly”.
They have a special section devoted to improper weather stations, which generally are reporting much warmer temperatures than actual ambient temps, due to siting near asphalt parking lots, air conditioning exhaust, and in one case a burn barrel!
And when instruments and tree ring data are not giving you the data you want ignore the data and don’t include it in your studies.
The hypothesis must be saved at all costs.
