US officials expressed anger over Israel's policy of "non-interference" with the Russian annexation of the Crimea; Israel's Haaretz newspaper reported.
A US official told the paper that the White House was disappointed with Israel's absence from the UN General Assembly meeting two weeks ago to vote on condemning Russia's military invasion of the Crimea and call to maintain Ukraine's territorial integrity.
"We have been consulting closely on Ukraine not only with our partners and allies around the world. Obviously we are looking to the entire international community to condemn Russia's actions and to support Ukraine, so we were surprised to see that Israel did not join the large majority of countries that voted to support Ukraine's territorial integrity at the United Nations. Israel's justification that it did not attend the meeting due to the Foreign Ministry strike is unacceptable" said the senior US official.
The US official said that Washington was particularly angry with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman's failure to publically support the US position on the crisis.
According to Haaretz the US is especially disappointed with FM Lieberman who equated Israel's relations with the United States to its relations with Russia. Lieberman is reported to have told Channel 9 that Israel has "good and trusting relations with the Americans and the Russians, and our experience has been very positive with both sides".

Oh Gee!...to damn bad!...screw the White House!
“US officials expressed anger over Israel’s policy of “non-interference” with the Russian annexation of the Crimea”
This has to be a parody...Or this administration is even more bat ship insane than I even thought.
I wonder if the US will demand that Switzerland chooses sides?
After all, we’ve been such a good friend and staunch ally of Israel these past five years....
Let me see if I have this right. Obama has been actively trying to sell out the Israelis to the Palestinians for several years now but is disappointed that they don’t jump in on condemning Russia over Ukraine?
Truly idiots are running this country
LMAO! Israel is not sold on the NWO. Who would have thought.
Psalm 2 - read and heed it, all principalities and powers, wherever you may be found. The West stands on the edge of an infinite precipice.
Why should Israel get involved in the Russian-Ukrainian war when the USA refuses to?
The Israelis have always looked out for No. 1. They did sell the plans for the Lavi to the Chinese, and almost sold an AWACS system to them. When confronted over these deals, Israeli defense officials huffed, in an interview with Haaretz, that the Pentagon scotched the Israeli AWACS deal because US defense companies were themselves hoping to sell these systems to China.
Maybe Israel could send them some Lox and bagels. You know, to accompany the MREs the US is sending...
And exactly whiskey tango foxtrot is this White House occupant doing to help Ukraine?
Another reporter mistaking Obama’s desires for those of the American people.
“US officials expressed anger over Israel’s policy of “non-interference” with the Russian annexation of the Crimea”
Well, it’s kinda like the whole Iran and nukes thing...soooooo, yeah, just reciprocating.
I’d prefer if Israel stayed silent and provided advice and weapons on the sly to the Ukrainian government.
Anti-Semitism is when everything turns into an indictment of the Jews.
When the first UFO lands, I’m on it. Has to be better out there somewhere.
We’re not a reliable partner for Israel. Why in the world would they pick a fight with the force holding the strings of all of their enemies? It has nothing to do with whether they think one sovereign power invading another is a good thing. I’d imagine that they don’t.
Which side are we on?
