Ah, spitballs! Good ol’ Zell!
It just seems that Russia does not understand Kerry’s concept of a global test. Soon Putin will feel the wrath of an international ‘shunning’. (No one is going to take more sanctions seriously during such trying financial times, you know.)
“It’s really 19th century behavior in the 21st century.”- Kerry. You know that stung!!!

It doesn't have anything to do with the polish missiles.

There are two issues in play and what was Zbig's role in those issues.

First, funding the political opposition or the civil society NGOs. It was Zbig who was the mover in funding the political opposition in Afghanistan, which led to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. I don't know what role Zbig had in arming the opposition in Afghanistan, but the prime mover in that was east Texas democrat Charlie Wilson(Charlie's War) Then bring that forward to funding the NGOs and political opposition in Ukraine for the Orange Revolution and again to the most recent uprising what was the funding. Keep in mind that Putin cut off the US AID money going to the Russian NGOs and threw Pussy Riot in jail.

The other issue is what commitments were or were not made during the 2 plus 4 German Re-unification treaty negotiations over expanding to the east and/or Ukraine(EU, NATO, US). Gorbachev says the commitments were made, but Robert Zoellick(US negotiator) said no commitments were made. And Zbig was an outspoken supporter of expansion. Amongst the Realists, Zbig and Bob Gates are the most hawkish.

As for premise in the article that Zbig is an advisor to Obama, I don't see that. OTOH, Republican Realists such as Colin Powell, Kissinger, Lugar, Scowcroft, Gates, and Hagel have been.

Its probably not a good idea to escalate over Ukraine. Time is on the side of the west. Its really a demographic conflict in Ukaraine. Younger, urban, and better educated versus older, rural, and less educated.

From his Wikipedia page:
In August 2007, Brzezinski endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. He stated that Obama "recognizes that the challenge is a new face, a new sense of direction, a new definition of America's role in the world"-- also saying, "What makes Obama attractive to me is that he understands that we live in a very different world where we have to relate to a variety of cultures and people." In September 2007 during a speech on the Iraq war, Obama introduced Brzezinski as "one of our most outstanding thinkers"...

So what does he think now? Trying to laugh the record straight?

Sounds like a candidate for the Memory Hole.

He who controls the present controls the past. He who controls the past controls the future.

If Zbigniew Brzezinski is criticing Obama is it certainly not on the ultimate goal:

Zbigniew Brzezinski was President Carter's national security advisor. In his book Between Two Ages: America's Role in the Technetronic Erahe stated

"Marxism represents a further vital and creative stage in the maturing of man's universal vision. Marxism is simultaneously a victory of the external, active man over the inner, passive man and a victory of reason over belief.....Human beings become increasingly manipulable and malleable...Today we are again witnessing the emergence of transnational elites....whose ties cut across national boundaries....The nation-state is gradually yielding its sovereignty....Further progress will require greater American sacrifices. More intensive efforts to shape a new world monetary structure will have to be undertaken
