There is no good way forward for the govt in this situation now. They don’t know how to handle an equal opposing force. They are used to taking people down when they are vulnerable and unarmed.

I predict if the LVPD or the BLM try a SWAT raid its going to go down in flames.

I notice the FBI and US Marshals don’t seem to want any part of this thing.

“There is no good way forward for the govt in this situation now. “

Sure there is. Issue an apology, and recognize his grazing rights where his family has grazed for over 12 decades. Why isn’t that an option?

The BATF sure got their asses handed to them in Waco. But they got even when their compadres from the FBI, and the army, went in with tanks. Then McVeigh hit them back with fertilzer.

It’s basically been quiet since then. The one thing going for the people is the internet. Can you imagine how Ruby Ridge and Waco would have turned out if they had the internet.

I noticed that too. The normal law enforcement agencies don’t want to touch this. I suspect they may know something that probably involves Dingy Harry.

Another way forward,,.

Lower your flags, march straight back to England stopping at every home you pass by to beg forgiveness for one hundred years of theft rape and murder. Do that, and your men shall live, do it not, and every one of you will die today.”

I agree. This will not end well for either side.

Been watching this thing closely and have yet to hear why the LVPD is involved.

Any ideas? Thanks, panax

Other than a refusal to pay grazing fees Bundy has not broken any laws, federal or state. The involvement of the FBI or other federal leos are uncalled for. If there are threats to the BLM personnel, beyond words in a TV interview, the feds will be there quickly. IMHO Bundy has no legal leg to stand on. The Constitution of the State of Nevada clearly recognized federal ownership of those lands when statehood was applied for. That predates the Bundy family’s arrival in Clark County by at least 18 years. This does not excuse the arrogant and violent action of the BLM. I feel this has more to do with demonstration of both federal power and willingness to use it as an example to prevent any future Sagebrush Rebellions. Otherwise BLM could simply have gone to court, won their case and simply applied a federal lien on any income that would be paid to Bundy for his cattle or crops. Now they have to do something or have a rancher who owes substantial payments to BLM go without consequence. It’s one thing to allow illegals to remain here without consequence but to have a prosperous rancher who openly professes scorn on the feds get away with this could result in repetitions all ovet the West, at the least. That is a possibility the feds and Obama do not want to see played out. My guess is they are not stupid and will go the federal court route.
