That is because the planet has gone quite insane, and reality is whatever authorities declare it is at that moment.
Except for REALITY in this case ended up the same as if someone was boarding.
The best predictor for future behavior is recent past behavior. That the authorities have reacted in an insane fashion recently, tells me they would react the same with me in that future.
So, she's not boarding a plane. Not scheduled to board a plane. Makes no specific threat whatsoever. ARRESTED.
Crazy.
Netherlands - they might euthanize her
Someone says they are al quaida and have something big planned for an airline?
Reality says lock him/her up.
As I said, “something big” was EXACTLY the terms used by the terrorists prior to 9/11.
But, go ahead and take the test I proposed. Test your libertarianism to post-9/11 reality.
You don't know that, in fact the airline couldn't have known it from a "tweet" from an unknown source claiming to be in Afghanistan and a member of the Taliban.
The airline had no choice but to take the threat seriously and turn over the information they had to the authorities as I'd hope they would if you or I were boarding that plane.
You claim she didn't make a threat: I claim she did. Using "Afghanistan", "member of Al Qaeda" and "something big is about to happen" is absolutely a threat that MUST be taken seriously. I don't care if it's a "tweet", something that pops up on our computer screen, or a note via carrier pigeon. The three elements of the threat I just stated above have to be taken seriously in a responsible society.
I just don't understand how you don't see that.
next thing you know kids will be getting in trouble for pointing their fingers at each other.
