I was just thinking about this subject. In particular there were 5 girls I knew who were unusually beautiful. None of them got married out of high school. One married at age 37 and has a baby. I bet she is a good Mother but I doubt she will ever have another.

None of the other 5 ever got married and a couple are now too old to have children. Oddly enough, I think they all would have been good Mothers, they were just raised in a time when girls were expected to have careers and a cat.

The reason I was thinking of them was partly it seemed such a waste that they did not pass on their genes.

Being a mother has been the single most rewarding, stunning, and breathtaking experience of my life. I have a 7 year old daughter that I wouldn’t trade for ANYTHING. These pathetic women have no clue what they’re missing.

I knew someone who got a tiny dog for a fashion accessory. It didn't last very long. When she figured out the dog had “needs” she suddenly tired of it.

Hmmm. A note to women in the 15-29 year old demographic referred to in this CDC report:

If you’re under 21, by all means have a lap dog, not a baby!

If you’re over 21 and unmarried, by all means have a lap dog, not a baby!

If you’re over 21, married, and find yourself unable to financially and/or emotionally provide for a baby, by all means have a lap dog, and not a baby!

I don’t see a problem with these decisions.

This reminds me of Dana Perino, who eschews children, and talks endlessly about her dog. Pretty sad, really.

Seriously, I was having dinner with my two kids, 17 and 13 year old last night, and it occurred to me what delightful little conversationalists they were becoming, and how much I loved them. That they were just babies only a moment ago, in my eyes, made it that more poignant. Time goes so fast, but I am sure proud my kids exist!
