Michael Reagan: Shut Up Tea Party, Your Candidates Are Kooks
http://www.westernjournalism.com ^ | april 10, 2014 | michael reagan

The Tea Party zealots who haven’t learned from their mistakes in 2010 and 2012 are trying their best to screw up the GOP’s chances to win the Senate this fall.

Where does the Tea Party find these people to run in primaries? Most important, why do they offer them up as legitimate Republican candidates?

The Tea Party bosses have been listening to too much talk radio. They seem to think that what makes a good Republican candidate is someone who sounds like a talk radio host.

But talk radio is all about bombast and attracting callers, not about winning elections.

If Republicans are going to win general elections in 2014 and beyond, we’ve got to put up principled conservative candidates who sound like senators, congressmen, and governors — not kooks.

You keep posting childish nonsense and name calling, rather than informative or engaging posts, why?

You do join us and the tea party in our support for Ted Cruz in 2016, don’t you?

Ansel, you are painting with way too broad of a brush. Learn some reality and maybe you can paint between the lines a little more accurately:

Many Libertarians - and Rand Paul are very conservative on SOME issues, even more than mainstream conservatives…and they are very liberal on SOME issues. Some of the Paul contingent was part of the TP movement from the start, and some were not. TRUE, they were not the force in the TP that the liberal media likes to claim, or that the hard core Paul bots claim, but they were indeed part of it.

This was the anti fed anti Bush faction and anti spending faction and anti debt faction within the libertarian movement. Not the pro druggie or pro abort or pro gay parts. They are all part of the libertarian movement.

That’s all we are saying.

I think it’s absurd to think there’s a coordinated GOPe plus the Paul bot Libertarians effort to derail the TP. The GOPe hates elements of the Paul camp more than anyone. Now, they may end up agreeing on some issues…but these are NOT coordinated camps.

And yes, I’m a big Cruz guy. Have been from the start. My politics would be squarely from the Palin Cruz Limbaugh Levin wing of the conservative movement - a Reagan movement conservative. As such, I ardently agree, and ardently disagree, with libertarians on various issues. But I’m also a student of history and of the Tea Party and Palin for sure, and have written widely on both subjects.

Who said that the GOPe and libertarians are conspiring to derail the TP, you are the only absurd person I have heard saying that.

You also attempt to paint libertarians falsely, as mere conservatives, rather than a movement and self identification of people to the left of conservatives by being liberal on social issues, and national defense, in other words, “libertarians”.

I didn’t ask you if you supported Cruz, I asked Sontagged, and thanks for your constant posting about your books that you hawk here.

You paint Christians and social conservatives with a broad brush, a negative one, while attempting to convince conservatives that libertarians are not really libertarians, they are actually conservatives who just like the name “libertarian”, and want to be known as being “libertarian”, for some reason.

“”Many Libertarians - and Rand Paul are very conservative on SOME issues, even more than mainstream conservatives…and they are very liberal on SOME issues.””

That’s right, that is why conservatives post things like this about Rand Paul.

Gosh you are tiresome, why not just post what what I said, that I am denying now, so that I can respond.

As it is, no one knows what you are claiming, only that you are a basket case of insults.

I and no one else knows what your attack is supposed to be based on.

I’m not reading another word - you simply cannot, or will not, comprehend what I am saying. You say I’m a GOPe plant, and when I prove it - you say I’m hawking a book - you say the liberals in the GOPe are teaming up with the libertarian liberals to subvert the TP - then totally deny it. You are either just sport trolling, or you really are not very smart.

I report, you decide. It’s one or the other, because your trail of posts are an embarrassing mess of mish mash, contradictions, misunderstandings and paranoia.

Is our little buddy a troll really, or just slow witted and unable to read and hold a thought from one post to the next?

you now deny things you said earlier to Sontagged…..you’re just a liar and a troll.

If you aren't a troll, then at least post the claimed lie.

I never called you a GOPe plant either, you lie a lot. As far as your writing, you have mentioned that to me a couple of times, and posted your book cover to another poster.

All your insults seem to be your own personality traits.

"You say I’m a GOPe plant"

At least show me those quotes, since you made such precise accusations.

Is this more lying from you?

Ha!! I talk to people all the time....It's amazing to me...the people that say they are very conservative...but have no idea really what's going on. They have their rally points....but they really have no clue about what IS REALLY GOING ON!!

Crazy!!

Troll. Trying to see “what flies” on FR or what response they can tease out from true conservatives so their GOPe consultancy class knows how to game the system for ‘14 and ‘16.

This is why his posts make no sense.

Not feeding the troll anymore. Waste of our time — while he gets paid for our opinions and information.
