Run Jeb, Run!
Breitbart.com/Big-Government ^ | 4-10-2014 | Craig Shirley

Posted on 04/10/2014 11:10:25 AM PDT by servo1969

The GOP will never become unified until is decides what it believes. Bush should run if only to force that debate over what Republicans really stand for. Part of the reason Reagan won in 1980 was the field against him was divided. The establishment favored Ambassador Bush or John Connolly or Bob Dole or Howard Baker but Reagan forced the debate and moved the party to the right, where much of it is today.

In 2016 the right of center vote will be divided among Paul, Ted Cruz, and others, just as the conservative vote was divided in 2012, allowing the highbrow Mitt Romney to win the nomination.

If an outsider wins the nomination, establishmentarians can be counted on to hold their noses and be supportive, if only to maintain their proximity to power. But if an insider like Romney wins, it will be interesting to see if they can convince the Tea Party to stick around, as Mitt failed to do in 2012. Failing that, we could see the death of the modern, national GOP. And possibly the eradication of Reaganism as a governing philosophy.

Or, if Reaganism prevails again, as it did in 1980, 84, 88, 94 and 2006, we could see the departure of the neocons from the GOP, to go back to their natural home in the Democratic Party, where they were once call Trotskyites. And see Bushism fade as a valid governing philosophy.

This coming fight for 2016 will be the Gotterdammerung for the GOP--the “dusk of the gods”-- as it will determine what it stands for, probably for a long time. No one can predict the outcome, but like Ali versus Frazier--or any contest over power--it will be utterly fascinating to watch.

“Truly bizarre sentence. Those Trotskyite neocons voted for Reagan in 1980 and 1984 (and they weren’t Trotskyites and Democrats in the same time period).”

There’s nothing bizarre about it at all. That’s a paraphrase of Irving Kristol’s own description of the origin of the neocon movement, of which he was the godfather.

"The GOP will never become unified [again] until it decides what it believes.

Nor will America be united until we stop Balkanizing her; English IS the Official language; You are either an American or you're not...NO hyphenated names; Pledging Allegiance to our flag means what it says...."I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all"....The Constitution will and must be protected at all costs....only the Tea Party is demanding this with no equivocation.....defending that document has become a blood sport among American politicians who are of the Republic and those politicians who fight for Socialism/Communism instead.

Crime: The Open Borders Lobby’s Dirty Little Secret

By FrontPage Magazine

FrontPageMagazine.com | October 4, 2005

On August 26, 2005, the Center for the Study of Popular Culture, the Federation for American Immigration Reform, and the Coalition for Immigration Reform of California co-sponsored a conference on illegal immigration at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Below are the transcripts of speeches given by three of the participants in that conference: Heather MacDonald, a John M. Olin fellow at the Manhattan Institute; Dr. James Edwards, an Adjunct Fellow at the Hudson Institute; and Dr. Glynn Custred, a Professor of Anthropology at California State University, the East Bay. All three touch on the interrelated nature of illegal immigration and crime in American society. — The Editors.

Heather MacDonald: Thank you. I’m honored to be here at this beautiful spot with such an extraordinary group of thinkers.

I think I detected in Mr. Hayworth’s presentation this morning a slight note of irony towards the mainstream media. I want to continue that a little bit on their treatment of illegal immigration, and take as my text for this morning a Washington Post editorial from August 10th called, “The Reality of Gangs.” Now, the title was misleading. It would have more appropriately been called, “The Unreality of Media Coverage of the Illegal Alien Crime Wave.”

The editorial describes the unending series of maimings, stabbings, killings, that have been unleashed recently in the Northern Virginia area by Mara Salvatrucha – usually shortened in the media to “M13” – a gang predominantly of Salvadoran descent that has spread from its home in Los Angeles across the country.

And predictably the Washington Post called for more social programs to try to dissuade ever-younger Hispanics from joining the gangster life they’re starting at ages 8-12 now. I’ve seen a picture of a class of kids from Shenandoah standing in front of the Washington Memorial in D.C. flashing gang signals.

Even as the Post called for more social spending, it completely ignored the most salient feature of Mara Salvatrucha, which is the astoundingly high number of illegals within its ranks. The Justice Department estimates that more than 50 percent of all members of Mara Salvatrucha are illegal. I talked to an LAPD Officer who deals with this gang daily, and he puts the figures much higher. I’ve heard cops tell me they think it’s almost 100 percent. I think that’s too high, but it’s somewhere between there.

Irving Kristol supported Reagan and became a Republican, and in any case, he's dead now.

Who gets called neocons nowadays is hard to say, but they probably don't have Trotskyite pasts.

My point in posting was that Kristol and the few other people in his group were solid Reagan supporters in their day, so no need to attack them on that score.

Republican primary voters on March 4 nominated George P. Bush with 74 percent of the vote in the contest for land commissioner.

MA refugees who flee to NH were mostly decent people...

MAssholes who flee MAssholia most probably think they are decent people. However, in Maine they have been shown to carry the dreadful, painful, and fatal to any decent-place-to-live virus of MAssholismus, which has no known cure except frequent dunkings in the waters off Chappaquiddick.

Hard-Drinking Catholics who vote for abortionists and cannot operate motor vehicles? What could possibly go wrong? Besides, by refusing to live next to Aunt Zeituni, they are racis. Keep the bastids home. Please.

If we dodge the Hillary bullet this time, she will be too old/concussed to run next election cycle. Just the sound of her voice is like fingernails on chalk board to me.

Right now, I am pretty sure that Hillary! is going to win simply because the GOP-E is unwilling to allow a conservative presidential candidate. They’ll try to run a pro-amnesty, pro-”reasonable” gun control, “mend, don’t end Obamacare” “middle of the road” candidate and we’ll skip the top of the ballot, write in, or vote Third Party...

KB, How’ve you been? Haven’t heard from you in a long time!

I’ll add that NYers have also soiled ME, VT and NH as well. And, yes, many if not most of them carry a strain of MAssholismus called Nuyawkeritis.

Up in ME where my uncle was his compound, many of the other pieces of land have been bought by NYers. And the Mainiacs don’t like them anymore then they like the Massholes.

It’s like swarms of locusts attacking.

Stay away from the drunken, lapsed Catholics; they can’t fly planes or pilot boats too well either...

.... all those Somalis....

Ray, you is (or be) a racis? Them Somalis is a tourist attraction. Many tourists visit Maine (Vacationland) and are from cities that have violent murdering gangs of no-good dope dealers and welfare loafers. Governor Baldacci (before returning to work as a dishwasher in his Ma's old restaurant) figured our wild and crazy Somalis would make folks from away feel more at home if their lives was in danger when visiting L-A.

Furthermore, other members of the Baldacci Clan was gettin' set up to give camel rides in the Desert'o'Maine.
www.desertofmaine.com
and what better than to have native guides who was armed cutthroat members of camel, goat, and sheep rustlin' border bandit tribes back in dear olde Somalia. For further info, ask a Kenyan Army Public Affairs Officer.

I double-dog dare you to say that in Southie. I also urge you to complete your education by reading Red Shea's biography about his life with Whitey and the gang, "Rat Bastard." Really good!

And you are not to go about repeating jokes like:
Q: "What did JFK, Jr. and Penguins have in common?"
A: "He also looked good in a tuxedo, nor could he fly."
