Isn’t recognizing Muzzies as being Muzzies the same thing a racial profiling?

What happened to separation of church and state? When is Christian Recognition day? Are the Buddhists covered, too?
What gives? Since when is it ok for the state to push a chosen religion on it's members?

Well you’d have to look at Islam not being a religion.

You have to remember that Cedar Rapids has the longest standing mosque in the USA. It’s called the Mother Mosque and has been there since 1934.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_Mosque_of_America

The first one was built in 1929 in Ross, SD but it was torn down.

According to this wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_the_United_States

“While an estimated 10%[2] of the slaves brought to colonial America from Africa arrived as Muslims,[3] Islam was stringently suppressed on plantations.[4]

From the 1880s to 1914, several thousand Muslims immigrated to the United States from the former territories of the Ottoman Empire and the Mughal Empire.[5]”

Why they started coming over in the 1880s onward and who encouraged them to do so is unknown. Why they decided to settle in South Dakota and Iowa is another good question with no answer.

But don’t forget there is a 6,000 seat mosque in Washington, DC that was conceived of in 1944 and completed construction in 1954 and dedicated by Ike in 1957.

Not at all what I was hoping it would be — a guy running a slide show: “All right we’re gonna start with the easy ones. This slide is showing you the most common type, a dark skinned guy with a big shaggy beard, in a turban...”

I didn’t know that. Strange they would settle in SD and Iowa.

The only reason I would think they would settle there is due to the fact that not many people lived out there during the late 1800s and early 1900s and as a result not get much flak from their neighbors.
