This is a race we need to make a priority of. Mike Simpson is the epitome of “Establishment hack.” Bryan Smith wants to make the U.S. a better place where the Constitution is adhered to.
The Chamber of Commerce wants to create business for immigration lawyers fighting for amnesty, while painting Smith as an evil lawyer.
I predict that Idaho’s political landscape will look a little, maybe a lot, different after the May 6 primary.
In addition to Smith running against Simpson, we have State Senator Russ Fulcher running against Gov Butch Otter.
Idaho County Commissioner Jim Chmelik is running against Lt Gov Brad Little, and Todd Hatfield is running against semi-incumbent (?) Woolf.
Chris Troupis is running against the most worthless Attorney General Idaho has ever had, Lawrence Wasden.
Our Sec’y of State Ben Ysursa is retiring, and hopefully Lawerence Denney will take that job. There are two or three others looking for that job.
Finally, if we can get John Eynon elected as Sup’t of Public Instruction we have a good chance of pulling out of Common Core. He is the only one of two or three others who opposes CC.
Any one of these people taking office will move Idaho’s government more conservative. A clean sweep would be an opportunity made in heaven.
All in all, it could be a good spring.
