Russia warned Tuesday that any use of force in Ukraine's eastern region could lead to civil war, as Kiev seeks to regain control after pro-Moscow uprisings in three cities.

Pro-Russian protesters seized government buildings in the three cities of Donetsk, Luhansk and Kharkiv on Sunday. Rebels occupying Donetsk's regional government building Monday declared a "people's republic" and called for a referendum on secession from Ukraine to be held by May 11.

I’ll admit the Molotov cocktails were a bit over the top in more than one way. But did you notice they did not burn down any buildings. Nor was there any looting of the nearby shops.

“I won’t call you a Putin apologist, but you have gone for the Russian propaganda hook, line and sinker.”

I’ve been following events here for a while, long before it started making US TV, ever since Putin threw out the Soros-funded NGO’s. There is a LOT more at play here than just some protestors overthrowing the government.

Current events in Ukraine now, can be traced directly to Obama’s aborted attack on Syria. But all of this dates back to post-Libya. This is Alinsky vs. Machiavelli, and it’s becoming clear to see who is holding the upper hand right now.

So...so far it’s been an uncivil war?

Rather than fantasizing about paperback psychology it may be more useful to consider the old Soviet concept of the correlation of forces. I still see Putin as a nationalist opportunist but he certainly was not asleep at the wheel all those years in the Soviet KGB.

We have a saying in the old America: "Strike while the iron is hot."

Phoney Christian? I think you have him mixed up with the current occupant of the White House, whom is about as anti—hristian as a leader can be. What policies has zerO instituted that advanced the cause of Christian morals & society? Yet, ”phoney” Putin established a 100 year law to try & protect Russian children from the perversion of homosexuality. He also instituted a policy of paying young families the equivalent of $20,000 for every second child born, which results in much fewer abortions & increases much needed Russian populace. SI suggest you watch the following video. Perhaps you’ll learn something re: Putin Christianity: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u3d_yxJhmjk

The realization that Obama is hostile to Christianity does not make me believe any of Putin’s claptrap about Christianity. He did serve his atheist masters in the communist party for over 16 years, not as some indifferent paper pusher either. He was a KGB Colonel. He put people in jail and he spied on people in Dresden, Germany. He has since acquire $75 billion, making probably the richest man in the world. Perhaps being that wealthy is a Christian trait, but not as I know the teachings of Jesus. His girlfriend might tell us a thing or two about how devout he is, as long as his wife doesn’t mind. He does pursue positions hostile to all Christian churches, except his own, the one he has corrupted. He’s as clear an autocrat as there is today outside of Africa and the third world. Maybe you want a theocracy ruled in Putin’s favor, but I don’t. In fact, I’d never force my religion on anyone knowing that sincere belief comes from true conviction and not coerced, statist, Putinista force.

Russian hypocrites wanted force to be used to restore order in Kiev but they don't want force used against pro-Russian protesters in the East. Russians do not treat others the way they wish to be treated.

Yes, and his ex-wife is in a nunnery, much like Peter the Great did to his wife. Good Christians are like that, don’t you know? Meanwhile, Alina Kabayeva’s political career is doing swell with a little help from her great Christian patron, Putin, President for Life, and exemplar of all things Christ like.

Well, I’d like you to tell me which “Christ-like” policies & laws THIS country is putting in place?? The answer is NONE! So before you criticize another country and/or it’s leaders I suggest you take a good, long look in the mirror. Just about everything this country leadership does is ANTI-Christ.

I don’t mean to be an apologist for Putin by any means. But “Christian men” get divorced by the thousands every year. Doesn’t make them any less Christian, just mortal sinners like all others. The fact that Putin is Anti-Christian because he divorced his wife of 30 years is a weak argument. And there are only rumors & innuendos about Putin’s personal life. Arguments based on MSNBC, etc. rumors are always weak. All I know is, Russia has put in place laws that are PRO-Christian, while the US grows progressively (pun intended) ANTI-Christian. And I hear less about that here, than about how evil Putin is. Quite hypocritical, IMO.

Putin persecutes all Christians except the KGB-run Russian Orthodox Church. Putin exterminated and ethnically cleansed thousands of innocent Christian civilians when he invaded Georgia. Genocidal KGB Putin is satanic and evil.

“It’s like we’ve suddenly got the Westboro Baptist Church on FReeRepublic explaining why an avenging tyrant is doing God’s work in destroying a weak neighboring nation, former KGB Colonels being such good Christians, don’t ya know.”

LOL...that’s good stuff...right there

You remind me of what I wrote last night. It’s like we’ve suddenly got the Westboro Baptist Church on FReeRepublic explaining why an avenging tyrant is doing God’s work in destroying a weak neighboring nation, former KGB Colonels being such good Christians, don’t ya know.
