With the recent confirmation that immigration enforcement in the countrys interior is all but eviscerated, it is an opportune moment to assess Americas future if its immigration policies--de facto and de jure--remain unchanged. California provides a window into that future, since the transformation unleashed by the last three decades of mass immigration is further advanced there than anywhere else. Nearly 50 percent of all California births are now Hispanic, with the states Hispanic population almost equal to the white population. The consequences of this demographic shift have been profound. In the 1950s and 1960s, the state led the nation in educational achievement. Today, with a majority Hispanic K-12 population and the largest concentration of English language learners in the country, California is at the bottom of the educational heap, barely distinguishable in its national test scores from such economic backwaters as Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana.
Over a third of California eighth graders lack even the most rudimentary math skills; 28% are equally deficient in reading. The mathematics performance gap between Hispanic and white eighth graders has not budged since 1990, while the reading gap has narrowed only slightly since 1998.
In 2013, Governor Jerry Brown pushed through a controversial law that redistributes tax dollars from successful schools to those with high proportions of English learners and low-income students. It remains to be seen whether this latest effort to close the achievement gap will prove more effective than its predecessors. Working against that possibility is Hispanics high drop-out rate--the highest in the state and nation--and their equally unmatched teen pregnancy rate.
California spends vast sums each year trying to get more Hispanics into college--and keep them there. In 2009 alone, in an initiative to prepare more Hispanics for four-year programs, California spent $100 million on community college students
who then dropped out

Import the Third World, become the Third World. Our children and grandchildren will be able to enjoy the poverty and backwardness that Latin American has heretofore had to itself.

I was desperate for a cup of coffee while driving through Elgin, IL a few years ago on a sunday and stopped by a McDonalds. Inside the crouded restaurant, except for me and an elderly couple eating regular burgers, every single person on BOTH sides of the counter was hispanic. And Spanish is all I heard.
For those not aware, this is a Chicago suburb.
How come immigrants from 3rd world country of India have higher net worth per person and higher income on average than indigenous white Americans?
Conclusion: Not all immigrants are the same.
India doesn’t share a border with Mexico.
America is a bargain basement. They come here with bags of American cash. The price of housing is being bid up to staggering amounts. My wife’s cousin recently bought a house. Prior to getting his current house-in Orange County California- he had five houses bid right out from under him by offers of cash, usually over a million. The money comes from the imposition of the Free Trade fraud on a stupid public. This results in American cash flowing to China and India which is then used to buy up our land. We are becoming strangers in our own country.
Working illegals with the promise of citizenship down the road is slavery lite. It's indentured servants.
It's thuggy liberal shit that's horrible...
PING
Why blame the Chinese and Indians for buying up our country?
They got rich by working hard and with their governments allowing them to keep their earnings.
If we Americans had a government which encouraged business formations instead of 50 million on food stamps, $10.10 minimum wage, 99 week unemployment, etc we would be able to buy million dollar homes.
Last month I was in Singapore. They have almost zero unemployment. There is NO unemployment benefit checks from Singapore gov’t. Not one cent! Only “unemployed” people are those switching jobs and in between jobs. Corporate Taxes are low in Singapore. They have more jobs than workers! Singapore currently has 2 million FOREIGN workers under 2 year work permits.
So do not blame others for getting rich. Blame our own voters.
I was responding to the poster who blames our problems on ALL 3rd world immigrants. There are tons of 3rd world immigrants in America working their butts off and getting rich. India is just one example.
You know why—because the results are skewed by tech hiring and importing the most educated and wealthiest, rather than whoever swarms across the border. Find a way to open the floodgates to Indians generally, as has been done with Latin America, and you will get to the reality of India. I’m OK with taking only the best and brightest from Latin America, those who have been Westernized along the lines of the educated Indian immigrant. but that’s not what we do. We import the Third World in bulk, and we are paying for it.
I have visited 20 countries in last 10 years. In Europe, Asia and America’s. The one common thread I observed in every country is how strict ALL of them are in controlling immigration of under educated and under funded foreigners.
So I agree 100% that unchecked mass immigration is always a disaster for any country. My retort to you was based on your post denigrating ALL so called 3rd world countries. We should welcome with open arms over educated and over funded immigrants from ANY country. That is what many countries are doing such as New Zealand, Singapore, Australia, Switzerland etc.
