Not everything is 100% in life, Einstein. So, like everything else in life, a vaccine reduces chance of diseases. If enough people like you don’t vaccinate, it increases the risk pool for the rest of us. Until we breath separate air and inhabit separate earth, the risk gets shared regardless of whether you want it or not.

That being said, remaining un-vaccinated is your prerogative, but don’t come expecting rest of us to bear the burden of your bad choice. When I see a diseased polio kid around my vaccinated kid, should I not protect my kid by any means necessary?

Vaccines aren’t neccessarily 100 percent effective. There’s information to be sought on each one.

Im with you...im 39 and never in my life had gotten the flu vaccine. In fact this year bragged to my boys about it. Should have listened to him. I came down with H1N1 and thought I was going to die, the worst I’ve ever felt. Ill be getting one every year now.

You realize that pertussis has mutated around the strain used in the vaccines:

http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/15/8/08-1511_article.htm

“Our results underline the importance of Ptx in transmission, suggest that vaccination may select for increased virulence, and indicate ways to control pertussis more effectively.”

So it is a grey “science” at best. And makes a ton of $ for the manufacturers. Interesting to note that the last head of the CDC, Nancy Cox, when she left, went to head up Merck’s vaccine division. Nice revolving door.

Wow, kind of sick.

Hey, we’re on the same side for once, LJ. :)

I had both a vaccinated and unvaccinated child get the chicken pox during a local outbreak (most of the kids that caught it were vaccinated, by the way). Purely anecdotal, but here is how it went: the unvaccinated child got cold symptoms for one day. Mild cold symptoms. Then the pox came out. The first or second night, he was very uncomfortable. After that, he was mostly low key and playing, though he had hundreds of pox everywhere. The vaccinated child only got about 10-15 pox, mostly on his trunk. But he was sick with fever and in bed for a full week, too sick to even get up for more than bathroom. I don’t know what that was worth, but interesting. Less pox but more sick.

I currently know of 5 families whose kids are completely unvaccinated. 4 of those are the children of MD’s.

10+ years ago I didn’t know of any anti-vax MD’s. I know of 5 now, 4 of those with kids young enough to be subject to the schedule.

How could she receive one vaccine at a time? I’d do that. Sadly, they are grouped with three in each, some. Dtap = diphtheria! tetanus! and pertussis in one. MMR= measles, mumps, Rubella.

I should have said increased age at first birth. It’s a simple matter of demographic progression. As a population ages, the rate of age related diseases increases.

If the age of first birth increases (as it has), then age related birth problems will also increase.

It is also true that having “simple” members of the family was far more common (and accepted) in previous eras. Our society no longer accepts that idea willingly, partly because if you are going to limit your offspring to two, you want them to be perfect and partly because feminist culture doesn’t want to admit that certain choices have predictable consequences.

This is a good read. I'd copy some but I have no idea how to copy it with formatting intact and it's unreadable without it, I've tried. Tells exactly what is in every vaccine, including various brands of flu. I'll copy some of the flu vx ingredients.

Those that forget history are doomed to repeat it.

They forget that even the measles were a major killer just a few years ago, yet, they petition everyone not to get the measles vaccine now.

It is just plain mean that they got past various diseases years ago but demand everyone else take chances with their children and lives now.

“I should have said increased age at first birth.”

What difference would that make if the ‘difference’ weren’t itself environmental in origin?

Your lack of logic is laughable. You’re openly admiring your vaccines don’t work, you admit they wouldn’t protect everyone even if everyone was vaccinated, you fantasize that the risk of infection increases through non-vaccination rather than actually infected people (who you admit pose a risk even to those vaccinated), you claim the right to do “anything” to protect your children while denying that same right to people who refuse vaccinations in order to protect their children, you claim intelligence for quoting pro-vaccination MDs and accuse idiocy against those who quote anti-vaccination MDs, you completely ignore unregulated foreign lack of quality control, you deny the massive assault on a newborn’s immune system, you reject any impact of known poisons in adjuvants, and you dismiss massive actual testimony from parents about the clear damage their children showed after vaccinations as lies, ignorance or statistically acceptable results. And to top it off, you want to use guns to force everyone into your same level of completely unguaranteed vaccination while utterly ignoring the massive pharmaceutical profit margin.

LOL, given that your position directly endangers hundreds of millions of lives, I have a hard time even seeing you as human!

“autism epidemic began.”

First off, I don’t believe in the autism scare, and that comes from an entire family of medical practitioners. Every kid that doesn’t sit still like a total zombie is considered “autistic”. It comes from adults that don’t like children and want them to just shut up or go away. Children are not allowed to play and be the hyperactive kids they are supposed to be. These so-called adults forgot they were children once and ran around and didn’t pay attention, either. These adults just want little miniature adults instead of children.

Ok. Riddle me this. Most of us over the age of 20 have zero measles titer at this point. Vax immunity lasts 10 years at most. Since that means that most of the current population isn’t immune to measles, where are the measles pandemics.

Those medical practitioners aren’t around roomfuls of kids all day every day. Appointments are 15m max.

Talk to people who are in their 70’s who taught elementary school 50 years ago. Like my mom. She taught 3rd grade from 64-93. There were always little boys who had ants in their pants. And spankings in our area haven’t decreased. I joke that we live in ‘lower spanklandia’. From 93 until a couple of years ago however, my mom wasn’t around a whole lot of little kids. Then she volunteered to teach VBS when my oldest was old enough. My mom was horrified that NONE of the little boys make eye contact now without direct verbal admonition from an adult. That creeped her out no end. That’s a ‘Y’ chromosome ‘confrontational’ thing. The ‘bad’ little boys in her classrooms always made eye contact while they announced ‘you can’t make me’ or ‘I don’t want to!’. And they’re all like that now. No eye contact.

My mom thought all the hoopla over the ‘epidemic’ was parents who were rent seeking crazy checks. Till she taught that roomful of 7yr olds in ‘12. It was the change over 20 years that spooked her. Something is very different. And it isn’t that they’re not being spanked.
