If Jeb runs, he'll win. He wont govern as a conservative, and he won't do much if anything to repair the Republican brand, but the banksters know he is on their team - and if they wouldn't back Hillary over Obama in 2008 they sure as hell aren't going to do it in 2016. None of the damage done from 1993-2016 will get fixed, regardless of who gains the Puppet Throne. The best we can hope for is that a President Jeb might lessen the pressure of the Federal boot on the necks of the middle class...just a little bit.

Campaign cash always flows to the designated winner, and Jeb will start getting buckets of it as soon as he announces.

Illegals “create more businesses” because they are exempt from the laws and regulations that citizens have to endure just to open a business.

We have given him a hearing, George. We are rejecting him precisely because of what he espouses.

I have voted for my last GOPe goober for POTUS, or more accurately I have voted AGAINST the worse candidate for the last time.
I will have a candidate I can enthusiastically support (and it is not Jeb Bush) or I'll find something better to do on election day.

Barbara was and is employing psy-ops. She has since changed her mind and is “relenting”. Meanwhile, she gave the Bush name a lot of free press. We know Jeb is running precisely because the family came out of hiding and suddenly began to appear on tv shows. Do they really think we’re that stupid? Yes they do.

Jeb Bush, burdened by a damaged family brand, might not be the best potential nominee on the deep Republican bench. He does, however, deserve a respectful hearing from the Republican nominating electorate. He will not get this if he allows himself to become perceived as — if his supporters present him as — the choice of fastidious Republicans who think the party’s base is the party’s problem.

That last paragraph of Will's column is fair, and the last sentence is somewhat honest for an insider like Will.

There was a time when conservatives got little hearing at all in the media -- when there were only the big 3 networks and nothing else -- that I would wait an entire week just to hear Will's few conservative words on ABC's "This Week" show.

I've aged and he's aged, and that golden opportunity just to hear a conservative voice in the major media no longer draws me. Besides, it no longer exists. There are now zero conservative voices in the broadcast, mainstream media. Will has been shoved aside (probably age discrimination at ABC) but now gets much more opportunity to voice his opinions on Fox News than he ever did with ABC.

The above paragraph is the old George Will. I wish he'd return and stay returned. He's right that it's fair to give every candidate a hearing. He's right that it's insane for the establishment ("the fastidious" Will surprisingly labels them) to be so darn high-brow and picky-proper, high-falutin' that they'd willingly lose another election just because they want to enact immigration laws that are no more effective and not much different than what we already have. (Besides, I'm betting that Obama "pardons" all the illegals before he leaves office.)

In any case, this is a good article, and Will is fair in it.

No Bush is a conservative.
This “compassionate conservatism” is horse shit and not conservative at all.
Just say NO to Jeb

George Will has spent too much time being too close to liberals. GOPe/RINO.

I like George Will. Even when I disagree with him [this column, for example], I find his opinions interesting and thought-provoking.

Don't dismiss him out of hand. You can learn something from Will. If you'll allow yourself, that is.

"He does, however, deserve a respectful hearing from the Republican nominating electorate."

He may indeed deserve a respectful hearing, but as a presidential candidate, he will not be elected on the basis of his qualifications any more than comrade obama was.

Although I do not favor Jeb , the maliciously labeled “Terry killer”, he was governor of a very populous state. He has many qualifications as a result of being governor that Barack the pretender can still only dream of.

Scott and Rick are more appropriate and fresh gubernatorial presidential candidates. Governor Jindal is coming up in the pack after repeatedly calling the President a liar yesterday.
