The Jeb Boomlet: Why journalists are promoting another Bush candidacy
FoxNews ^ | April 2, 2014 | Howard Kurtz

You know who wants Jeb Bush to run for president? The pundits.

It's not that they pine for another Bush in the White House; it's that they need a GOP front-runner, preferably a household name.

The Republican race is too amorphous for their taste. Every story has to mention Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Chris Christie, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio and on and on. What journalists love is a two-person showdown, especially if each candidate hails from a different wing of the party, paving the way for lots of civil war themes.

Christie was their guy. A brash, blunt blue-stater with a relatively moderate approach. But the governor’s bus hit the bridge pothole, and even after the self-exoneration and those interviews with Megyn Kelly and Diane Sawyer, he is rolling on punctured tires.

So the media are gravitating back toward Jeb, who is plainly ambivalent about running. And here's how it works: reporters call up a bunch of party stalwarts and money men and ask if they'd like to see Bush get in. Sure, these folks say. Then we report a "surge" of interest in Jeb.

We all know the reason why. Because he’ll be another loser to whoever the democrat nominee is.

Fox news was pushing McCain all along. Then they were pushing Romney all along. And I haven’t watched them since.

They know Jeb can be beaten by Hillary. That’s why they want him.

It will be Romney all over again. "They" want the GOP to run someone who may look viable but will most certainly lose.

Now that Christie is mostly toast, the MSM will begin their push to get another loser to the Convention podium.

So they can say Bush, Bush, Bush did it. We all know if the left continues to destroy this country, they can say it was too many years of the Bush’s.

FTA: “The people from the Bush administration have certain values, and they definitely see some members of the party going too far to the extreme,” former Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez told The Hill. “There’s a more concerted effort to bring the party more into the mainstream, to bring our values more into the mainstream and get away from the extremes.”

No thanks.

We. Howard admits he's one of the manipulators.

I guess that's something.

It sounds like déjà vu all over again, as Yogi Berra would put it. Back in the '60's, the pundits were pushing for Nelson Rockefeller and for a time, New York City mayor John Lindsay. In the '70's it was John Connally.

Why journalists are promoting another Bush candidacy

Because journalists write what ever the man signing their paychecks wants them to write.

The question then becomes why do the men who own the 6 Major Media Corporations that control 96% of all media want Jeb as the GOP nominee.

What the MSM wants is an ad contest early where they get all the $$$ from donations and the RAT wins in the end.
MSM is close to being bankrupt and $$$ and power is all they want.

They are promoting Jeb because they are being told to do so. Jeb will be the next president after our rigged election in 2016. The press is tasked with providing an imaginary groundswell of support for Jeb so that his election will not be seen as impossible.

He will run as the anti-Obama who will fix all Obama has ruined. Of course, Obama's ruin by 2016 is political theater in order to make the people long for anyone but Obama. Jeb's fix will be for the U.S. to join a global currency, just what his globalist family and the rest of the elites have always wanted.

For the same reason they promoted every losing Republican in recorded history. Yes, going all the way back to the Fertile Crescent of antiquity and Sumerian cuneiform. That kind of recorded history.

Why? Because he will lose. If by some off chance he wins they know he is just another liberal, will cave to democrat demands, will pass amnesty, and destroy the republican name permanently.
