If the two others have followed Uganda’s pattern, they’ve set up a framework that pushes it to the point of witch hunt. Maybe there will be further reforms, but in passing I’d want to point out that the bible regime needed two witnesses and would also penalize false witnesses in line with the penalty for what they had falsely accused, for a reason. Departing from Christ on the right is no cure for departing from Christ on the left.

I don’t know what it takes to prove sodomy in these countries. But getting caught in flagrante delicto would certainly qualify, I have to believe. In that case, there is nothing “witch hunt” about it and the penalty should be swift and certain.

In the case of a mere accusation of homosexualty against a particular individual, I would hope the standard rules of evidence and burden of proof prevail, and that exoneration would clear the defendant’s name.
