Boise, Idaho (CBS SEATTLE) An Idaho state trooper arrested and fully searched a 70-year-old Washington mans vehicle solely because he had a Colorado license plate a state where marijuana is legal a federal license plate profiling lawsuit alleges.
Darien Roseen was driving along I-84 between his second home in Colorado and Washington state on Jan. 25 when Idaho State Trooper Justin Klitch immediately pulled out from the Interstate median and began rapidly accelerating to catch up to Roseen, according to the complaint in a Courthouse News Service report. Exiting at a designated rest area, Roseen says he became uncomfortable that Klitch had followed him though he had not done anything wrong.

At no point did Trooper Klitchs line of questioning relate to Mr. Roseens alleged improper driving pattern, the complaint states. Instead, Trooper Klitch immediately accused Mr. Roseen of transporting something illegal.
Roseens attorney, Mark Coonts, told Courthouse News that his clients constitutional rights were given no regard.
We believe that Americans should be able to travel interstate highways without being harassed and unlawfully detained because of license-plate profiling, said Coonts. Our client, Mr. Roseen, is a 70-year-old retiree who was returning from his daughters baby shower. He was stopped in Idaho and deprived of his constitutional rights because he was driving a car with a license plate from a state that ISP associated with marijuana.

An officer has to be promoted to detective before he can figure that out. /s
Paladin, you are so correct. Liberals of today would have been considered fascists of the 1970’s
Don’t ever answer a cop’s questions and don’t ever give a cop permission to search your vehicle even if you are doing nothing wrong.
The LEO was just following orders, what’s the big deal?
NOW can I be on the JBT ping list?
Just sounds like a continuation of an unwritten reality that has gone on for more than half a century. A car with a “New York” or “New Jersey” liscense plate is always going to be a hair more likely pulled over in “Louisiana” or “Arkansas,” and vice-versa. Especially when a raggedy car and a raggedy driver are added into the mix.
Now, with the state of “Colorado” being synonymous with dope and dopeheads, it opens up a new welcome target. Hello, reality.
Unless Idaho is pulling over every vehicle from CO this lawsuit is bogus
“Do you have a warrant?”
“Am I under arrest?”
“Am i free to go?”
The only three questions you should ever ask a cop who has pulled you over
I chose to take my $4k ski vacation with my son this year in Utah rather than Colorado in significant measure because of my opposition to the pot laws.
Well with a little bit of searching it turns out that there are a few more details.
And every one of them make officer donut here look more out of control.
Familop meant that there was more crap done by the dipshit with the badge, right?
Bingo!
May bloody piles infest you, may you have sores upon your feet,
may crabs the size of camel turds crawl across you balls and eat,
And when you are old and feeble and have turned into a syphilitic wreck,
may you fall down through your a-hole, and break your frigging neck!
You excuse your language in speech, not in writing.
Gee,what a delightful bit of poetry for a Sunday evening.

There’s another real Jack Booted Cop THUG by the name of
Cpl Jeff Jayne who patrols the Boise I-84 area.
This real winner would hold people on the side of the road for an hour or more “just because”. The best part is that this Cop Thug, Jeff Jayne, was arrested in the Idaho Panhandle for POACHING a moose out of season in 2010.
Jeff Jayne was transferred to the Boise area in 2011 much to relief of the citizens in the Idaho Panhandle.
Watch out for this Thug Cop on I-84.
LOL!
In this photo taken June 20, 2012, Idaho State Police Trooper Justin Klitch walks away from a car he stopped on the Idaho-Oregon border in Fruitland, Idaho. As the Evergreen state works out the various complications of its new law, including the fact that marijuana is still illegal under federal law, neighbors of Washington are watching with curiosity, and perhaps some apprehension. Idaho officials already have their hands full with Idahoans obtaining medical marijuana cards out of state. The Gem State borders three medical marijuana states, a reality that has caused medical marijuana arrests to outpace those of traffickers or other users.
Hmmmm, your heart really doesn’t seem to be in it.
Open question for all:
Should the JBT ping list be open to all, or restricted to copsuckers only?
Profiled for driving with Colorado plates?
Can I be on the JBT ping list too?
