Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is at the center of a growing political controversy after it was revealed Thursday that more payments from his campaign funds had been made to his granddaughter than previously reported.
The Nevada Democrat promised earlier this week to reimburse $16,787 his campaign gave to Ryan Elisabeth Reid in 2013 for what was described as payments for “holiday gifts.” Those payments were reportedly made to purchase items from Ryan Elisabeth Reid, who has her own line of jewelry. Reid defended the payments, saying they complied with Federal Election Commission standards that allow the purchase of goods from relatives if those goods are sold at fair market value.
Jahan Wilcox, a Republican National Committee spokesman, decried Harry Reid's use of campaign monies as a "personal slush fund."
Things got worse for Reid when the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Thursday that federal disclosures show the campaign paid another $14,481 to Reid's granddaughter in 2012, bringing to $31,268 the total paid to Ryan Elisabeth in 2012 and 2013 to purchase gifts for Reid's support staff.

Wonder what you’d get at Target or Best Buy for that kinda of stuff? Or am I off....she went to some jewelry shop or bought a new Harley? Or was this a trip to the Bahamas?

Jesse Jackson Jr. went to prison for the same crime. Dingy Harry, not so much. This proves, once again, that white Democrats are racist. Why isn’t Je$$e speaking out?
Reid is as slimey as one can be. He has made millions during his term in Congress. Every dollar should be probed.
The problem is that our morals have decayed so far in this country, nobody even cares. Theft and corruption are shrugged off almost like it’s “expected.” Not only will Reid face NO consequences, the granddaughter will be elected to congress one day as well.
This is beginning to look like events that led to the resignation of Speaker of the House, Jim Wright, D-TX.
Now all we need is a senator who will latch onto it and work it as well as Newt Gingrich did.
She's just a grown adult who knowingly took campaign funds illegally so she could buy a theater and pretend to be an artist in New York!
Why are all these vultures criticizing her for what may turn out to be just an obscure federal felony?
The campaign was reimbursed...... no harm no foul.
Always remember....... the Democrat Party is a Criminal enterprise. The party exists first and foremost to steal money
It will take more than that to get rid of Harry but at least they are on the right track. I would like to see them dig harder on his alleged mob connections and produce some really good proof of collusion with them that shows who he really is. The American People can smell the stench on him, Pelosi, and the other traitors in our administration who dare call us traitors while they are ommitting acts of treason and trying to usurp the Constitution and remove our rights. Yet, former VA Gov. McDonnell is facing trial for something more benign than this. What Reid has done is broken the law... think he’ll face indictment? Yeah, right.

Its starting to look like ole Harry might be using family members as money laundering conduits or as a means to circumvent FEC laws
DUH!! He’s as crooked as they come!!
Note to Congress Critters.......Keep the heat on and get after it, Reid is one of the most twisted crooks in Washington. Time for Dingy Harry to be sent packing, for prison.
He’s probably been doing this for many, many, many years.
He should go to jail.
