'One in 68 kids has Autism'

One in 68 children has autism, a 30 percent rise over the last estimate released in 2012, US health authorities said Thursday.

The latest US data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that the "proportion of children with autism and higher IQ (is) on the rise," said a CDC statement.

Previously, as many as one in 88 US children were known to have autism spectrum disorder, or ASD, a developmental disorder that recent research suggests may originate in the womb.

"This new estimate is roughly 30 percent higher than previous estimates reported in 2012 of 1 in 88 children (11.3 per 1,000 eight year olds) being identified with an autism spectrum disorder," said the CDC. The findings were based on diagnoses of eight-year-olds at 11 US sites in 2010.

The prevalence of autism varied widely, from one in 175 children in Alabama to one in 45 children in New Jersey.

The data continued to show that autism is five times more common in boys than in girls. In the United States, one in 42 boys is diagnosed with autism, compared to one in 189 girls.

It was noticed before he had any interaction with vaccinations, so we know it had nothing to do with that.

it was 1 in 250 just a couple of years ago.
then 1 in 100.

now 1 in 68?!!

this is a SERIOUS problem

with this kind of progression, it could be 1 in 34 within the next 2 years.

1 in 17 within 5 yrs from now.

this is stunning

Hi Star,

our four year old never said a peep until my wife frustrated and worried said to him ‘Johnny Cakes when are you going to talk’?

He said ‘I talking you’ clear as a bell, like he had been talking to her the whole time.

However I know your anxiety, I will say that music, music and more music, especially classical music even soft jazz to start not rock is something that I believe will help.

It has amazing effects on folks with profound Alzheimers.

You and your family will be in our prayers.

Lurking’

AMDG

In our case, we saw clear developmental delays. Those are very measurable and comparable to the rest of the kids in the overall population. There was no question about it. And you can tell that he perceives things differently, besides the developmental delays.

The mother, in this case was 26. We are taking care of him as we’re the legal guardians.

“I still would look at the whole vaccination thing. I didn’t vaccinate, and neither did my daughter. Wouldn’t trust it for a minute”

I’m thinking much of the increase is due to perscription drugs being handed out like candy for things like “depression” to pregnant moms.

I’d believe one in two Congress members are autistic.

Ours was clearly identified and diagnosed with his condition of Autism before any significant amount of vaccinations. He’s now had all which are required for his school.

The increase is BS invented by public schools and the commie teachers union that runs them.

They get a big bucket a federal cash for every kid they can claim as ADHD etc etc.

Remove the extra funding and new cases will drop like a rock!

Ours was diagnosed without any thought of Social Security. And he doesn’t have it now. We can tell, very clearly that he has this condition, regardless of “Social Security”. Everything in society isn’t the result of one conspiracy or another ... :-)

BUT, if he’s qualified for that ... we may consider that now.

I am by no means an expert but I believe the answer lies in our food and drugs/vaccines.

Heart disease, diabetes, coronary artery disease for example are new and are blamed on red meat and high saturated fat diets. Man has eaten red meat and a high fat diet for most of his evolution... so what has changed. Our red meat is injected with steroids and hormones and are corn or crap fed instead of grass fed. They are kept in animal factories instead of open ranges. This is true for all animals consumed nowadays. Vegetables are sprayed with chemicals. On top of that we now consume high carb manufactured “food” created by not only a chef but a chemist as well.

Western society is fat and riddled with heart disease because w have been told to eat a low fat high carb diet.

Carbs = sugar = blood sugar spiking = insulin = gaining weight and diabetes.

As for Autism I can only assume similar things are the culprit. Ultimately, I do not trust the people that make our food or the govt guideline makers regarding health. With the govt trying to regulate small farmers out and corner all the food production. I have read that the wheat we produce is not the same wheat we used 100 years ago. Its was modified to grow fast, is less nutritious, and when it hits water you get gluten which can be very bad for some people.

I do believe we are being poisoned and told to poison ourselves. I think the diet pushed on us for the last 50 or so years is proof of it.

In our case, it’s absolutely and clearly obvious. You might find out, if you talked to others like this - that it’s also clearly obvious, to them, too. Something is going on here - although I don’t know what.

I agree but specifically go Paleo/caveman diet

atkins is low carb but if you look at a atkins bar ingredients you would have to be a chemist to read it.

If it looks like it was made in a factory don't eat it.

EAT REAL FOOD NOT PROCESSED CRAP.

My five year old grandson has spina bifida and autism. His Mom and I have worked with him intensively, particularly while helping him with his medical procedures. Until this year, all he could do was sing. We taught him new songs constantly. He learned the verses quickly, remembered them, and sang in tune. He has realized that his singing is the bridge to speaking, which he wants to do very much. He struggles to get his point across, and sometimes invents his own expressions. For example, he had been here daily, having a wonderful time playing with Grandpa with a garden hose. Grandpa took a trip for a week, and our little guy missed him and came up with, “Why not Grandpa?”

He’s a creature of habit, so we mix it up a lot. If he expects me to select the song, I’ll tell him it’s his turn. He works very hard to convey the song he has in mind.

He has been in a developmental pre-school for three years, and is in a mixed kindergarten/first grade in the public school.

He can tell us his needs and choices. He can say I love you or thank you
in appropriate circumstances. He has an Alphie robot toy that helps with vocabulary, and gives him positive reinforcement if he answers questions correctly. The school is ordering him a communications board that will help him express himself. Years of constant effort are paying off. Keep at it!

Yes, children who are disabled do get SS benefits.

I won’t hold it against you for collecting SS benefits for your child. IMO, if it’s made available by law, you should get it. The system is going to crash regardless.
