"According to Nielsen Audio Metro data, Savage at least doubled Hannity’s average quarter-hour (AQH) rating in two major markets (New York and Dallas) and at least tripled his rating in Chicago and Savage’s hometown of San Francisco:"

That's what I dislike the most about Hannity's show. Anything more than 10 seconds and I feel a headache coming on. I can't reach for the dial fast enough to change the station. Reminds me of the early scene in Kindergarten Cop when Arnold first walks into the classroom and it's total chaos.

2nd on the dislike list is when he claims he's a "Reagan Conservative", which occurs as frequently as Kerry claiming he served in Vietnam!

Truth be told, I have not listened much to anyone since the 2012 election disaster.

Rush, Hannity, Savage, Levin—for all of their talk, it seems like the country just keeps drifting away to the left. They have made zero impact in the last fifteen years, except to be examples to be demonized by the left, and us by extension, being conservatives.

In fact,in the last fifteen years, I would argue that FreeRepublic has had more impact on the political scene than any of these talking heads. To wit, the impeachment of Bill Clinton started with FR’s March for Justice in October, 1998 and saving George Bush in 2000 in Florida with not allowing the count to be done in secret and the Sore Loserman label, saving George Bush in 2004, through exposing the CBS bogus Dan Rather letter and the support of the Swiftboat Vets.

These microphone jockeys have made their fortunes, sell their books and wares, but yield no lasting impact on the society.

We have run out of time to jawbone ad infinitum about things.

There has to be action. the 2014 mid term is going to be a turning point in American history. If the Dems are not turned out of Congress and state offices in record numbers, this nation is doomed.

The news is here on FR. We know more about it than most of these radio jockeys.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner — exit82 at post 82 — the old timers know how to do it.

Listening to him though always gave me the image that he was lying on a couch and someone was nearby taking notes and expected to give advice and tweak his prescriptions after each show.

Best comment on Savage’s show, EVAH!

Rush, Hannity, Savage, Levin—for all of their talk, it seems like the country just keeps drifting away to the left.

History repeats itself. H. L. Mencken and Father Coughlin were as famous in their day as the top radio talkers are now. For all their fame, their ultimate influence was quite meager.

You’ve got to be kidding. Savage as an awful radio voice. As far as being smart, he may be “educated” but he’s not smart. I wouldn’t trust anything he says. In fact I think he has a lot of mental issues. Nasty, nasty man.

At least Sean is a good person.

He has no loyalty. Will turn on anyone in a
second.

True, dat. I recall leading up to the 2008 election Savage praising Cindy McCain, calling her classy, etc. After the election he riduculed her as a pill addicted hag. I’m willing to cut Mike a lot of slack because he can do great, great radio but the attack on Cindy was disgusting.

I have no idea if Savage is right or wrong, but he’s so very unpleasant that the moment his show comes on, at 3:07 pm, I switch away from WMAL and find something else to listen to.

Yes, he’s at times “unpleasant”. However, we must stop being wimps. If unpleasant is how we must become to defeat the commie losers, so be it.

I like your analogies.....spot on

I cannot recall Hannity or Rush trashing other talk show hosts. Perhaps they did, but not to my knowledge. We are in a political war of ANNIHILATION. The Dems do not want blood, they want political death! With blood or bloodless. So, squabble and quibble and babble about differences in philosophy, it will come to naught.

I miss Bob Grant!

I was waiting for someone to mention Bob Grant. Did he finally retire? I have not heard of his physical demise. I listened to him 50 years ago out of Los Angeles. He was the real radio pioneer at skewering liberals. Had the intelligence of a Limbaugh and the snarl of a Levin.

....[Hannity is] a ‘Republican Hack’

That's putting it mildly. This is nothing new to me or many other right thinking conservatives. I can hardly stand to listen to Hannity the Pubbie mouthpiece more than about 10-15 minutes at a time for years now, he nauseates me.

Savage on the other hand thinks, talks and speaks as I do; he speaks truth. I agree with what he says more often than I do with what the 'Great One' says. Personally I'd like to se Savage replace Hannity on the radio in the same time slot that the Blue Blooded mouthpiece occupies.

Wow, I can’t understand why. Hannity is just Limbaugh’s parrot, but that Savage cat just rambles. I listen to podcasts during that timeslot here in Dallas.

Thank you for your most kind comment.

“Old-timer” is a badge I will proudly wear around here.

And you’re no noob—coming up on fifteen years in five weeks or so! Congratulations!

Hack Hannity and the Karl Rove Sidekicks.

Now that is downright funny.

Weiner is a phony, a whacked-RAT posing as a conservative.

He’s also a malicious bastard.

He does that to everyone. He loves Trump. Trump is immune, has a lot of dough and power.

Savage trashed Romney after Romney decided not to do his show any longer.

Savage is poison to anyone who goes near him.

Savage can be on top for a few weeks. As Bernie says about Fallon, wait six months to see how he does.

Savage never stayed on top on any station here, nor in NYC.

THey had to get rid of Hannity. After the last pres election, he had no gig at all. NO show.

His loyal listeners will stay with him, but he’d have been wise to be getting things in order to move on and be successful somewhere else.
savage was put in there. He won’t last there any more than he did at WOR, a major NYC station.

NO

Sometimes I wonder if he isn’t Ginsberg.

Though Ginsberg could be funnier.

Unfortunately Bob Grant passed away a few months ago.
