the point wasn’t that Mexicans are not different in some ways, the point was the government changed how it defined “white” and that has shifted the numbers a lot more than has actually occurred.

In the 1970’s just after the government decided to start counting Mexicans separate from whites, the percentage of Mexicans was only 5% (this is the only data point we have on how many were here to begin with since they weren’t counted sparately before then). In the latest 2010 census they were up to 10%. So basically, their percentage of the population doubled over those 40 years. Which is pretty impressive until you look at how much the Asian population has grown, which is now 10 TIMES what it was. And yet no one is mentioning the Asian invasion... or that if demographic trends continue.. the country will be majority Asian by ________.

Let see ... if the percentage of Asians has gone up 10 times in the last 40 years... that would mean it goes up 5 times every 20 years, or 2.5 times per 10 years.

so... just to make it simple, lets just say that the Asian population doubles every 10 years. The Asian population right now is about 5%

So at that rate in:

2024 they would be 10%
2034 they would be 20%
2044 they would be 40%

and sometime around 2050’ish Asians would be the majority. And yet, no one is talking about this.

So-called “Latin-Americans” and “Hispanics” are 15% of the population surpassing African Americans/Blacks at 13%, I believe that happened in the 2000s.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_and_ethnicity_in_the_United_States

And it looks like this has been recorded at least since 1970 when they were 9.1% of the population:

“The Hispanic population grew to 53 million in 2012, a 50% increase since 2000 and nearly six times the population in 1970, according to the most recent U.S. Census Bureau data. Meanwhile, the overall U.S. population increased by only 12% from 2000 to 2012. Hispanic population growth accounted for more than half of the country’s growth in this time period.”

I don’t believe if they say the majority of school children are minority in 2011 in some states, they would have said the same in 1970.
