Maldive officials are saying that no way did it fly over or near their territory.
The fishermen are out in a canoe without a paddle on this one.
“The eyewitnesses did not see a missle.”
My theory since Saturday
An accident makes little sense at this point.
It is not true that the tower is immediately notified. I have had a total electrical failure in flight under instrument conditions, and I assure you that contacting air traffic control is not the first order of business. It is to keep the plane under control, stabilize the situation as much as possible, and to try to figure out what went wrong. Then, it becomes more possible to make a rational report and request to air traffic control.
Ask Israel.
Even IF we find debris now...it will be almost impossible to back-track that debris to the crash site after its drifted in the ocean for 11 days.

How do you make a “request to ATC” with complete electrical failure?
I was once on a flight from Jamaica to Chicago or Milwaukee(can't remember which) when shortly into the flight someone on board had a medical emergency. The plane did a VERY rapid decent to an airport in Florida. Sitting behind the right wing, I watched the jet fuel shooting out from the wing like water out of a fire hose. As the flight to China was longer, I would presume there was a lot more fuel to dump.
Based on what evidence?
RE: I assume this Rob Shapiro isnt the same guy who got OJ off?
The SPELLING of the family name is different. The lawyer who got OJ Simpson off ( and was unhappy about the race card being played ) has his family name spelled — Shapiro ( no “c’ in the name ).
Well we had the breakfast discussion and the pilot/pilots are getting the blame.Suicide.
I disagree with that conclusion and go with a malfunction on the aircraft, with the possibility of sabotage. IMHO- Tom
In the middle of a tragic accident, the crew doesn’t have the time to turn the transponder off. A tragic accident doesn’t allow the plane to keep on flying for another seven hours and pass at very low altitude over the Maldives.
Another soothsayer checks in.

Apparently no evidence whatsoever. From the vidence I’ve seen, a mechanical failure sounds ridiculous. What, the co-pilot changed the route because of a failure, then forgot to mention it when he called the ground for a last transmission, 12 minutes later.
“Everyone seems to want it to be something nefarious. I am more open than the other day, but I still think this was a massive but not unprecedented accident.”
Sir, are you being obtuse? There are known facts that you are not even addressing. It is this kind of “see no evil” that brought us 911. Whether you want to admit it or not, there are evil people and governments out there that want to do peaceful people harm,,,,wake the heck up!
It’s beginning to look like the Captain may have hijacked his own plane for some nefarious reason.
Killed the co-pilot, programmed the flight computer to go somewhere where it cannot be tracked, possibly as a suicide (for insurance reasons or religious reasons (martyrdom?)).
Many things point to that type of scenario.....................
I may be wrong, but I believe all that has once again changed with the new radar info from Thailand.
It appears it was a slow and gradual left/west turn and wasn’t anywhere near where they claimed it was.
Also the last radio contact, everything ok, was after the plane was steered left.
No accident.
