It’s Time to Draft Ted Cruz for President

When Republicans run for the White House as conservatives, we win. When they run as moderates, we lose. Yet every four years, the party bosses and political consultants tell us that conservatives are unelectable and that we must support their big-government candidates.

I’m convinced that if we want to win the White House in 2016, we must nominate a consistent, full-spectrum conservative. We need a candidate who stands for something and won’t back down when the liberals launch their attacks.

That is why I am launching a new political action committee to draft Ted Cruz for President. With your help, we will draft, nominate, and elect Ted Cruz as the 45th President of the United States.

I’ve gotten to know Ted Cruz over the past three years.

I worked on the ground here in Texas to elect him to the U.S. Senate and I served as one of his regional directors until end of February.

During that time, I saw an honest leader who consistently and courageously fought for the principles of freedom that this country was founded upon.

In his first year in the Senate, Ted Cruz went toe-to-toe with the most powerful people in the country. He was attacked by Democrats as well as Republicans, but he didn’t back down.

When Republicans were ready to cave on gun control in early 2013, Ted Cruz was one of the few who fought to stop it. When Republicans were ready to roll over on Obamacare, Ted Cruz refused. And when Republicans tried to deceive their constituents on the debt limit, Ted Cruz refused to go along and fought for us.

Americans are frustrated with Washington because politicians in both parties aren’t listening. They’re sick of politicians who say one thing on the campaign trail, but then do something else once they’re elected.

Ted Cruz is different.

Ted Cruz made explicit promises to the people of Texas on the campaign trail and then did something completely foreign to Washington: he kept his word.

It’s why he is hated by Washington insiders, but loved by so many Americans. Ted Cruz doesn’t just make promises. He delivers.

I have personally met thousands of men and women in Texas and across the country who, like me, have been inspired by Ted’s passion and courage. We’re thankful to finally have a voice in Washington. It gives us all hope that we can save this great country.

It’s why I decided to leave the senator’s Senate office and begin working to help the grassroots organize a campaign to draft Ted Cruz for President.

I know there are other candidates who may run as conservatives, but I believe Ted Cruz has demonstrated that he’s the only consistent conservative who will do what it takes to roll back Barack Obama’s agenda. He’s the only one who has the passion, principles, and courage needed to deliver real results for Americans.

I’ve never spoken to Ted about him running for president and I honestly don’t know if he will do it, but I do know he won’t succeed unless freedom-loving Americans like you and me begin organizing this effort now.

Ted Cruz is the people’s candidate and we need to be the ones driving the effort to elect him.

So if you’re ready to be proud of your vote again and you agree that Ted Cruz should run for president, please do three things:

  1. Go to RunTedRun.com and sign the official Draft Ted Cruz for President petition.
  2. Urge your friends and family to join you.
  3. Donate whatever you can to help us spread the word and build support.

Making DC listen won’t be easy. It’s going to take millions of Americans standing together to draft, nominate, and elect Ted Cruz as president, and we need your help today.

With your support, we will gather over 1 million petitions this year and assemble an army of activists who will make the calls, walk the precincts, and donate the money needed to elect Ted Cruz as the 45th President of the United States.

Please join your fellow Americans in this fight for our nation’s future. President Obama has done serious and lasting damage to our country, and now is our time to make it right.

On our Pennsylvania board this morning, I read this;

ATTENTION REPUBLICAN ESTABLISHMENT

ATTENTION GOVERNOR TOM CORBETT

ATTENTION PENNSYLVANIA GOP CHAIRMAN ROB GLEASON

The results from the Special Election for the 28th State Senate District in York County are in.

WRITE-IN GETS 47 PERCENT (SCOTT WAGNER-TEA PARTY)

REPUBLICAN GOP-E CANDIDATE RON MILLER GETS 27 PERCENT

DEMOCRAT LINDA SMALL GETS 26 PERCENT.

The grassroots voters here in York County have given a resounding thumbs down to the Republican Party Establishment and their resentment and fear tactics.

The attack ads calling Wagner a “millionaire trash msn” and a “bully” backfired.

At the last minute the GOPe operatives suggested that a write-in vote for Scott Wagner would help elect the Democrat.

Heck, I think some of the Democrats that showed up to vote wrote in Wagner, too.

The rigged process to have Mike Waugh resign his seat early so the GOPe could ram its handpicked candidate (Ron Miller) through in a special election was laid bare before the people.

Great news. I wonder how Karl (the architect of failure) Rove will spin this.

The GOP establishment is withering on the vine. The Tea Party is slowly but surely becoming the new conservative Republican Party that will win primaries and general elections.

Less than one term in the Senate, gives a good speech.

Who does that remind you of?

Apart from talking the talk, it is a HUGE administrative/executive job. What has Cruz run to qualify him for this responsibility?

While I love Ted Cruz, I struggle with the whole Natural Born Citizen issue. My concern is that he may not be any more of an NBC than Sortoro is.

I'm willing to listen to counter arguments, though.

I’m all for Ted Cruz for president, but I must go on record as an otherwise completely enthusiastic Ted Cruz supporter to argue (against) opposing Obamacare by repealing it.

I believe there is one bit of Obamacare which is very valuable, that is the section which covers people who are otherwise not covered.

Keep that. That makes the issue slightly more complicated, but we need to keep that coverage.

Otherwise I’m all in favor of Cruz, but he tends to extreme, and I believe on this subject he goes far too much one way.

(I recognize so also, do a lot of posters on this site, including JR)

Just saying. Not everyone in America is covered by a government policy from service.

Don’t forget there are a lot of voters who are not covered by government service.

We vote.

(there are a lot of us)

Tom Corbett has signed some of the most insidious driving-related fee and fine increases imaginable. He has broken his pledge and demoralized his base, and I believe he will be thrashed in November. When a Republican in charge sucks, like Bush or Corbett, people buy the Marxist lies. When will they learn?
BTW, I wish that I could vote for Ted Cruz *today*! Bob

I'd rather roll back the whole thing and pick out the few positive nuggets and pass them as separate, individual, bills.

People not covered already get care, good care. All Obamacare does is transfer more of the charity case costs to the taxpayer class, and those who need it least, the young. It is a simple welfare scam. There is nothing “extreme” about Sen. Cruz, unless you consider the U.S. Constitution extreme. Bob

WOW!! I heard of this race and was curious how it would turn out.

This election should be looked at as an EARTHQUATE that could happen across this country. The biggest fear should be in the Democrat party and to a lesser extent the GOPe. FINALLY the average American is seeing their Country being taken away from them and they are starting to rise up to stop it.

I am so glad for this opportunity. I once asked the same question...

"During high school, Cruz participated in a Houston-based group called the Free Market Education Foundation where Cruz learned about free-market economic philosophers such as Milton Friedman, Friedrich Hayek, Frédéric Bastiat and Ludwig von Mises.[20] The program was run by Rolland Storey and Cruz entered the program at the age of 13"

"Cruz graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in 1992.[2][5] While at Princeton, he competed for the American Whig-Cliosophic Society's Debate Panel and won the top speaker award at both the 1992 U.S. National Debating Championship and the 1992 North American Debating Championship.[27] In 1992, he was named U.S. National Speaker of the Year and Team of the Year (with his debate partner, David Panton).[27] Cruz was also a semi-finalist at the 1995 World Universities Debating Championship, making him Princeton’s highest-ranked debater at the championship.[28][29] Princeton's debate team later named their annual novice championship after Cruz"

"After graduating from Princeton, Cruz attended Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1995 with a Juris Doctor.[2][31] While at Harvard Law, Cruz was a primary editor of the Harvard Law Review, and executive editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review.[5] Referring to Cruz's time as a student at Harvard Law, Professor Alan Dershowitz said, "Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant."[12][32][33][34][35][36] At Harvard Law, Cruz was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics"

"He was the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas,[4] the youngest Solicitor General in the United States, and the longest-serving Solicitor General in Texas' history. He was also the first Hispanic, and the first minority to be elected U.S. Senator from Texas"

"Between 1999 and 2003, Cruz served as the director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission, an Associate Deputy Attorney General at the United States Department of Justice, and as Domestic Policy Advisor to U.S. President George W. Bush on the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign. In addition, Cruz was an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation, from 2004 to 2009."

I don’t agree.

I have had one operation (will two actually, a combination), which falls outside the usual. I was informed by my healthcare provider, that this means this care would no longer be provided by another other care provider except for my current provider, and I believe them.

The problem with that is, my current insurance is provided by my employer, who is outsourcing our jobs as rapidly as possible.

It is entirely possible I may be laid off. As such under the old rules I would lose coverage for this issue, which means I could lose (very important) coverage if ever needed in the future.

Tens of thousands, at least. Possibly more.

I understand the principle but in real live, Obamacare served a very valuable service.

For some of us. Very important.

I completely support Ted Cruz, but I do not support complete repeal of Obamacare.

I just don’t.

Don’t do it.

Nice news from Pennsylvania. Keep up the good work, tea party. We have the Rats and the GOP-e on the run. Rats have realized it. GOP-e keeps hitting the snooze button but the alarm keeps ringing.
