““(Boston Beer Co. has) no problem taking the money from the people drinking at the bars along the parade route,” Flaherty Jr. said, adding he has no qualms with gay people. “We serve to everybody. I don’t have a problem with gay people, nor do my father and uncle.”

Well, I do. That’s why there are fag bars. They cater to fags and vice versa with normal, straight, hetero dive bars. Now Flaherty, I dare you to place a big sign on your bar as “gar friendly”, and watch your customer base change and let’ see you try to cope with the homo demographics.

“gar friendly”

They’ll attract a lot of fish that way!

Did you notice that Flaherty is boycotting Boston Beer Co., because they (the brewery) are not supporting the parade, because the parade organizers won't allow anyone to march under the rainbow flag. Flaherty had to add the bit about having nothing against gay people; to avoid the inevitable accusations of “homophobia”. He's likely in enough trouble as it is, for taking a stand — he doesn't deserve trouble from people who should be supporting his stand.

Go back and reread the article, and you'll see what I mean. I had to read it twice, to sort it out.

Oh, and BTW, even the thought of a gay “pride” parade makes me nauseous — but, I have nothing against gay people standing around a bar, fully clothed, and minding their own business while enjoying a brew. There's a difference.

I was at the Saint Paddy's parade in 1962 when the NAACP put a float in the Parade, not good. I also worked in Southie for 22 years, for all you Southie Rats my Ford truck had the “God Votes Republican Sign” in the back window.

Flaherty might put up a sign, with an arrow pointing to the South End.
