WTF? How could this possibly work?
What happens when after the election the winners would throw the ratio off, would the losers take office instead?
This is dumb and stupid because it is not implementable! This would mean either the state gets to choose who can be on the ballot or who will be “accepted” after voting. Either way, the people will be robbed of whom they want representing them - the government does not get to decide that.
Insanity.
I bet this was driven by the women, even though it could come back to bite them (if they were majority). This is an “equality” thing, now the LGBT crowd will be demanding 20% of the seats too, this is far too hetero-normative!!!!
Maybe if you lose because of a quota you could decide to “turn gay” and have the sexual identity of the opposite sex. Would you then be ok?
