His father’s millions can’t get him out of this mess.

Wages paid.

Well, I wouldn’t want to repay the father by wishing ill on the family.

Restitution from Corzine’s fat bank account to the MF Global investors, combined with a jail sentence and a ban from all future securities industry work would have been enough for me, especially if it had happened in a timely manner.

No one wants to be an alcoholic either. I didn’t. Twenty-four years sober I still don’t. It’s still out there. I’m sober today but for the grace of God and AA. Sorry for Mr. Corzine’s loss. If drugs or alcohol were involved the sad reality is some make it and some don’t. Rigorous personal honesty insures one will make it, if one can be that honest. He’s beyond any more hurt now.

"It’s the mother who I feel for!"

Me too. No mother should have to bury her son. Poor woman was married to an a$$hole who publicly humiliated her, and dumped her after 33 years of marriage. Remember the half-a-million mortgage loan he gave his then girlfriend, union head, Carla Katz? He later forgave the loan, and paid the gift tax she would have had to pay on it. Katz was the President of the union that represents NJ State employees.

Too bad the results of drug use aren’t viewed by most as the equivalent of driving over a cliff, or ramming into a tree at 100 mph. Nobody would do those things even once, “just to experiment”, but only if he had a death wish (or was on drugs).

Drugs are like voting demoncrat. Lots of others are doing it, it makes big promises and gives out rewards, and any destructive long-term effects are lies made up by uptight people out to ruin a perfectly good time.

“Don’t care for Corzine, but I’m sorry he lost his son; do not wish that pain on anyone.”

Ditto. Kids must be off limits. My condolences to the Corzine family. May the grace of god ease your pain.

Sometimes drug use causes irreversible damage to the heart or other organs.

He could have been completely clean, but suffering some sort of damage years before.

Prayers for the repose of his soul and for the comfort of his family.

To revoltingcat: No, it is not “empty posturing”. I have three children and the death of any one of them would be devastating to me. We have to distinguish and separate true evil from the evil that arises from man’s venality. I give the benefit of the doubt to Corzine that, as a normal, fallible human being, that he can love his family and make evil decision and actions based on fear and greed.

Writing condolences on some internet forum as if the intended recipients were reading it is lazy and empty posturing.

I’ve long dispelled with pleasure from the pains of others.

That's a nice way of putting it.

The pain of losing a child is unimaginable.
