President Barack Obama is struggling to overcome widespread pessimism about the economy and deep frustration with Washington, notching the lowest job-approval ratings of his presidency in a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.
The results suggest Mr. Obama could weigh on fellow Democrats in midterm elections this fall, particularly in the conservative states that will play a large role in deciding whether his party retains its Senate majority.
Mr. Obama's job approval ticked down to 41% in March from 43% in January, marking a new low. Some 54% disapproved of the job he is doing, matching a previous high from December, when the botched rollout of his signature health law played prominently in the news. The latest survey also showed the lowest-ever approval in Journal/NBC polling for Mr. Obama's handling of foreign policy.

41% approval still blows my mind. That still means that just slightly less that half thinks he’s doing just fine.
41% still indicates too many fools have their heads in the sand.
When their own numbers have you in recession territory, then you’ve been in recession a long time.
The real economy is huge numbers unemployed, stagnant pay rates, and real inflation that is rapidly increasing prices on the things that middle class Americans buy. The stock market will crash and interest rates will skyrocket when the Fed’s “easing” begins to take effect AND folks start being honest about inflation.
I agree....he gave me cold chills of fear when I saw his first convention speech...forget what year it was. I just had a sense he was big big trouble.
But even so, who could have imagined how truly terrible he has been - far worse than even I anticipated. Muslim Brotherhood in the WH - using our money to rebuild mosques overseas - 17B in debt and he doesn’t seem to care - on and on and on....
I think they did the free beer and rock concert trick in Berlin also. As I recall McCain tried the same thing but it didn’t work so well.
41% is a statistical trick, a mathematical lie.
They’re over-sampling Dems or under-sampling Repubs, or both.
Anything to maintain the illusion that the country still supports this bozo. If they actually told the truth, this Administration would collapse.
41% ? right - the same people that tell us unemployment is only 7%
I’m sure Wolf Blitzer will spend a full two hours covering this story tonight. /sarc
The con-artist challenge by Democrats to RINOs to Fix the failed Federal Medical Insurance Law, Obamacare, is now approaching a decision point: April Fools Day, 2014.
Always eager to do nothing unless it is something that might make the Democrats hate them less, the GOP Establishment is actively searching for ways to help their best friends across the aisle on the failed Obamacare Law which is set to fail April Fools Day, 2014.
The GOP-E has recently picked up Romneys Torch of Tyranny (Romneycare), and are happily working on their own version of Federal Medical Inurance called RINOcare.
Will the TEA Party Reps. in the US House rise up and replace Doormat for Obama Boehner, and then ABOLISH the RINOcare replacement of Obamacare, or will everyone just sit on their hands and be happy to be everybodys fool, again?
Romney is hoping that Boehners RINOcare prevails, as it will allow Romney to run again as the GOP-E Nominee in 2016.
BTW, why are so many RINOs so determined to continue the financial destruction of America by advocating Federal RINOcare?
Obamacare has proven to millions of Americans that Federal Medical Insurance will always be doomed to fail, a lesson ignored by our sorry Federal RINOs.
FORWARD !
[BTW, have you ever noticed that the Obamanation command FORWARD ! is ALWAYS towards the Financial Cliff?]
The WSJ is purchased by so-called conservative Murdock and is still a flaming lib rag and they team up with NBC.....
Bloomberg recently had Bam at 48% approval. Bottom line Bam’s real approval could be in the low 30’s.
This goes to show that about 40% of the electorate are irredeemable morons.
Here are the internals of the poll and it is much worse than the reported numbers:
“The Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll was based on nationwide telephone interviews with 1,000 adults, including a sample of 300 who use only a cellphone. It was conducted March 5 to 9 by the polling organizations of Bill McInturff at Public Opinion Strategies and Fred Yang at Hart Research Associates.
Individuals were selected proportionate to the nation’s population in accordance with a probability sample design that gives all landline phone numbers, listed and unlisted, an equal chance to be included.
Adults age 18 or over were selected by a procedure to provide a balance of respondents by sex. The cellphone sample was drawn from a list of cellphone users nationally, and respondents were screened to ensure that their cellphone is their only phone.
The data’s margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points. Sample tolerances for subgroups are larger.”
Their sample group is skewed do to the fact it is not registered voters and even worse it is not likely voters. If these numbers hold, the elections in November will be a really bad day for the democrats.
Obama cannot make laws.
This so called executive order cannot be imposed on anyone.
When a salaried employee sues his employer because of lack of overtime pay what law on the books will a judge look to for reference; maybe the "Obama Says So" executive order? Sure.
I guess it won't be long before Obama issues an executive order to businesses to hang a picture of himself at the entrance of every private office building and private business. Oh yeah, don't forget the schools and classrooms, doctors offices and hospitals.
I guess it is time for another Obama Family Vacation.
So, to more accurate, wouldn’t that be a new, NEW low?
Hell, they're oversampling the news department.
NBC is a little late to the dance.
At this point he can raise minimum wage all he wants but I don’t think it will help his poll numbers. People who love him are going to vote democrat no matter what.
