Did they find any Fast & Furious guns?

They are harassing legitimate owners, hoping to put them out of business, or to find some technical infraction and roast their a$$e$.

The “80% complete” just means the trigger assembly and magazine components are not installed.

You posted that like it was true.

Look into Truecrypt. Its an open source encryption tool for hard drives.

They wanted the names of his clients so they can do midnight Ninja raids on the customers!

This, down the road, if needed. But mainly they wanted to intimidate any possible future buyers with the idea of putting EP Armory out of business and to scare off any other potential 80% manufacturers.

Not sure what they are referring to regarding the “80 complete” claim.

Somewhere between being an ingot of metal and becoming a finished receiver ready for an upper, the object goes from being a lump to being 'the gun'. ATF has ruled that "more than 80% finished" is when that magical transformation occurs. What constitutes 80% finished is whatever ATF says it is.

Let's constructively knock down falsehoods as they are posted.

The facts are an 80% receiver needs the fire control pocket to be milled out and the trigger, hammer, and selector cross holes to be drilled.

ATF actually does some great work prosecuting habitual firearm offenders among thr gangbangers and drug trafficers....applying stiffer federal penalties with superior expertise in federal courts. What we read about are egregious exceptions to that rule. But it takes a firm administrative hand to restrain the quasi-indepent jurisdiction prone to such nonsensical, agenda-driven persecutions. We don’t have that now. In fact, these rogues are rewarded for their efforts....made a model for others to follow. Purges proceed as needed.

The rot starts at the top. One jurisdiction at a time. One judge at a time. One coven of media owners.... to cheer them on....at a time.

So, I don’t think anything is totally lost. There’s just a lot of nascent malignancy to be excised by a president who treasures liberty in his or her
heart....and uses authority to appoint righteous lieutenants...and a legislature amenable to doing the right thing. It can happen.

I would hope this would prompt the rest of the 80% manufacturers to flush their customer lists.

I'm guessing this was a trial raid to see what information could be gleaned.

"What constitutes 80% finished is whatever ATF says it is."

I wouldn't want to dance around that fine line, especially in California. Sounds like it could be very subjective, and the only thing between you and being arrested could be whether or not an agent is having a bad day or ignorance.

Almost every product they have is sold out. Thank you, ATF, for finally doing a good deed!

Fair enough. Too much incorrect opinion/hearsay is posted to bang_list topics as though it was solid info.

> The lower receiver on an AR is legally considered to be ‘the gun’ and requires a serial number,

Actually, the only part of any firearm that is actually considered to be a gun is the part with the serial number. Everything else, including the barrel, is just machine parts.
