Malaysian authorities today refused to verify a ministers claims that the two passengers who boarded missing MAS flight MH370 using stolen passports had Asian features, saying that they did not want to jeopardise ongoing investigations.
Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) director-general Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said that it would be premature for him to comment on the claim, made last night by Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
I will not reveal too much on the two passengers still under investigation, as it might jeopardise the investigation, he said, refusing to entertain repeated questions on the matter.
Ahmad Zahid made the revelation last night when announcing an internal probe on the Immigration Department over the incident.
I am still puzzled how come (immigration officers) cannot think, an Italian and Austrian (passengers) but with Asian facial features, he was quoted by national newswire Bernama.

FNC on F&F reported this morning that they did not have Asian features.
well they ought to post their photographs so people can identify them
"He also said that those travelling with fake passports on the flight weren't 'Asian looking.' "Asked to clarify the appearance of passengers on stolen passports, Rahman bizarrely suggested they looked like the black Italian footballer Mario Balotelli," The Guardian Said.
So maybe they landed in Somalia.
This article states an Iranian business contact booked the two tickets of those with the stolen passports. She knew him only as ‘Mr. Ali’. He paid in cash, and the Thai travel agent said he booked tickets through her regularly.

It sounds as though they are more worried about money damages than locating the thing. Surely there are satellite images of the jet. Maybe even of it exploding. Perhaps it was sent deliberately over military air space and blown to oblivion. Maybe the Chinese military airspace was invaded sort of like the passenger flight over Sakhalin Island and the Chinese obliterated it.
Fess up China, if you know anything, fess up
Breaking .... CNN INTERNATIONAL REPORTING ....
“An oil slick that searchers had thought might be from the plane turned out to be fuel oil typically used in cargo ships, according to Rahman.
ALSO...
Other leads — reports that a plane door and its tail had been spotted — turned out to be untrue, he said at an earlier briefing.
Mario Balotelli has heritage from Ghana though he was born in Italy so plenty of those radicals come from Western Africa though not so much Ghana. I believe a dangerous AQ radical was from Nigeria and of course, Boko Harum are comprised of Islamic savages.
Drummer Lee Rigby was the poor young Brit who was decapitated in England. At least one of the murderers were Nigeria, a country with a history in the Commonwealth and with Great Britain.
I think they landed it somewhere. It was a red eye flight after all.
My husband thinks they could have made it to Somalia with the fuel they had onboard.
Maybe they are dealing with the kidnappers/hijackers right now, I hope so
Hey MarMema
My kids used to call me MarthMama!
That article all but confirms terror of some kind. The article also states that on three previous occasions people with stolen passports also carrying explosives were caught trying to board a plane.
Dubious passport Obama wasn’t on the plane was he?.
IF they followed ‘all protocols’, then the protocols are lax & need changing.
Otherwise, protocols were NOT followed.
Never had given thought before to how strictly other countries review passports of travelers.
This is chilling.
I cannot understand how passports are not automatically checked for validity before any passenger is allowed to board an international flight. After all, credit card companies regularly and immediately invalidate stolen cards. No reason why governments couldn’t do the same with passports.
