House Committee hearings are rarely must-see television but a heated exchange (heated exchange) between Oversight chairman Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) and the ranking Democratic member Rep. Elijah Cummings yesterday was unprecedented.
Issa was holding hearings to investigate alleged political bias within the IRS. When he deemed witness Lois Lerner uncooperative and tried to prematurely end the proceedings, Cummings fought back.
“Mr. Chairman, you cannot run a committee like this. You just cannot do this. We’re better than that as a country, we’re better than that as a committee,” he said.

I can envision a pre-planned scenario where Cummings would axe Lerner some questions, where then she changes her stance and “answers”. Axing a question and asking a question, being two totally different things.
While I agree with you, you are making the mistake of thinking that members of the CBC or the Democrat party think like normal folks do.
For them race is EVERYTHING. With racial politics following closely behind.
If they can tag Issa with the Racist banner, they and poitical corruption win. I do not like Issa, but he and this committee are our best bet to rein in a little of the Federal Government's power and corruption. And maybe just maybe a chance to repeal the 16th Amendment.
That’s true enough. Cummings would likely have done more damage to the communist cause, and this little brou-ha-ha could have been avoided, if Issa had just allowed the moron to keep blathering.

Cummings used the word unAmerican to attack Issa...now that’s more hypocrisy as Cummings seek to use the IRS to punish Conservatives.
Hey, where are the ads highlighting the IRS abuses from the RNC?? They got money they can pushback.
Issa should recuse himself from this investigation (not step down) then the pubs should designate Trey Gowdy as the chairman for this investigation.

democrats do not want to get to the bottom of the IRS crimes because they are at the bottom of the IRS crimes. Cummings is nothing but blustering criminal loud mouth. Criminal because he is not interested in justice for the American people.

Cummings is panicked about something(s) he’s done IMO, and IMO that’s driving his drama. I think he’s got to be seen as a victim of pubbie attack so no one will take honest reports about things he’s done seriously (assuming anything gets reported...).
Cummings and 7 other Rats tried to get the above bill passed late last year. Whatever he’s worried about, it’s very serious... like treason or espionage.
Cummings was in the process of saying that using the IRS to investigate people opposed to the government was more American that investigating the IRS for doing so.
I call for the removal of all members of the Black caucus from Congress.
