Ukraine crisis: Crimea parliament asks to join Russia

MPs in Crimea have asked Moscow to allow the southern Ukrainian region to become part of the Russian Federation.

Parliament said if its request was granted, Crimean citizens could give their view in a referendum on 16 March.

A government minister in Kiev said it would be unconstitutional for Crimea to join Russia.

Crimea, a region whose population is mostly ethnic Russian, has been at the centre of tensions following the fall of Ukraine's pro-Moscow president.

Pro-Russian and Russian forces have been in de facto control of the peninsula, which already enjoys a degree of autonomy from Kiev, for several days.

List of countries the USA has bombed since the end of World War II

How much is Code Pink membership per year?

You have a list of countries American boys are buried in? You have the list of how many countries were raped, murdered and enslaved by the Russians?

Yes, and too bad the USA didn’t bomb the commies in China back to the stone age when it had the chance.

What’s the likelihood that 99.5% of voters will want to join the RF? Crimean Tatars and ethnic Ukrainians included

Oh please, a tyrant was removed.

When you define democracy down to mob rule...then yes.

And by the same logic Crimea is free to go.

God Bless the Ukrainian people. They know where their historical spiritual and economic interests lie and they are not in the decadent “west”.

I am a little skeptical of a pronouncements made by a parliament operating in a building occupied by hundreds of special forces types with no insignia. That said, the majority Russian population is likely in favor of this.

Not that any of this matters, its not like Putin gives a crap about democracy or elections.

Who the hell is the US to decide who may or may not be the leader of another country? What the hell were doing Nulland, McCain and Soros in Ukraine, comploting against the legitimately elected president?

Europe is NOT your bloody business. Stop meddling!

Your arrogance leads you to self-destruction. You deserve the catastrophic president you got. Europeans used to love America, especially at the end of WWII, but now, most of the people find it insufferable.

He hasn’t been quiet. He gave a long press conference two days ago on video. (see YouTube) & had a 90 minute phone call with zerO as well. Our media has blacked him out, but he’s been talking, just go find it.

My Russian friend tells me that he & almost everyone he knows would rather have the lives they had before the wall fell. Morality is in the toilet since western values invaded their country. Even porn was very hard to come by before 1990, now it’s rampant there.

“My Russian friend tells me that he & almost everyone he knows would rather have the lives they had before the wall fell. Morality is in the toilet since western values invaded...”

Well, I kinda agree with them. I visited Poland and Hungary in 1978 and found the people to be solid and sincere and the societies to be cleaner that the US. However, the System at the time was untenable both economically and socially. People wanted more opportunity and they blamed the state for restricting them. Both were right. The world had changed and it was their time to change with it.

But now it is hard to square invading Ukraine with the moral security of the Soviet Union rather than the state oppression of the Soviet Union. So which Russia is resurgent, the moral or oppressive one? Anyone can see the answer.

What evidence do you have of such, it is that just your opinion. I have a good friend in Poland & I’ll send it to him.

I doubt it but if that happened, it would be happy times for America again, happy times indeed.
