Here's how to Deter Putin...DO IT NOW!

Here's how you stop and deter Putin. it is how George Bush got the job done in 2008 in Georgia.

Bush started out by talking to him face to face in Beijing and letting him know, man to man, that it was not going to go as Putin imagined.

Bush faces down Putin at Beijing Olympics over Georgia

We had military advisors already on the ground there. Bush immediately expedited the return of 2,000 members of Georgia's 31st Light Infantry Battalion who had been fighting beside US Marines in Afghanistan.

He then sent in more US personnel and material on C-130s and C-17s...direct to Tiblisi and immediately (which is what we should be doing right now to Kiev). When those US C-17s and C-130s went in, they had a lot of US personnel on them in addition to the supplies and material...and that was in addition to the military personnel we already had there.

Bush did not pull those out...he added more to it and made it clear to Putin that a push into and through Tiblisi was going to put the US Military in the line of fire and that Putin DID NOT WANT TO DO THAT.

In addition, in short order, three US warships and three NATO warships entered the Black Sea. Some brought supplies, others stood by and defended them. The three NATO warships and one of the US warships were top of the line surface combatants with two AEGIS vessels and two other guided-missile vessels.

Putin knew that Bush meant what he said. He had seen it already time and again over the seven years prior. He consiodered the cost of rolling over those US personnel and what the consequences would be, and he knew there would be very severe consequences with a heavy interest payment.

The following are all pictures from the events of the day, during the Georgian crisis, of us material, more advisors, equipment flowing in. Of US advisors already on the ground and training Georgian forces immediately prior to and during the crisis, and US and NATO warships all sent into the Black Sea during the crisis.

US Navy Command Ship enters the Black Sea

US Navy AEGIS Destroyer enters the Black Sea

Bush drew a stark line in the sand...and he did it with the US military even as the Russian forces were nearing the capitol...and Putin paused, and then stopped, and negotiated.

Now THAT'S how you deter a man like Putin. Stop talking and start acting.

You guys act like Reagan is president. The number one value this laughing stock nation of ours now exports is gay rights. Take off your Cold War glasses. We are the commies now.

That is too much a sobering reality. As i expressed on another thread, on one hand we have a country that supports conservative faith, and opposes homosexuality, and which is a threat to the goal of a United States of Sodom. Thus you have and will see the paradox of western pro communist liberals opposing Russia, and even sounding somewhat hawkish now.

And the other hand, Putin can be more of a wolf in sheep's clothing, and the Orthodox church is a means of controlling what atheism tried to do, persecuting evangelical churches. And the fall of Ukraine would signal another step towards Russia gaining terror-tory the Soviet Union lost.

Meanwhile America's greatest enemies are within , iniquity and the anti-Christ ideology that fosters it.

Those multi-culturalists that influence the media and dems and that support amnesty and created the 1965 Immigration Act are setting up the USA for similar turmoil. They conveniently want our firearms too so they can do the same thing the commies did to the Ukraine. Mexico will be invading California claiming it is because they want their country back.

If you are not considering the possibility of conspiracies and lies by officialdom, then you are not thinking. The liberal media leads the sheep by the nose. Sheep do not critically think beyond what they are told.

No...we act like America is what is was founded to be and could produce more Reagans...and it can.

Reagan, Lincoln, Washington, were all born out of the need for this nation to identify and claim its roots. While it is true that those roots are under abject assault, an that evil, conspiring people are in positions of power...the same was true in those days. Just different people with different evils...but make no mistake, the were also the same...the lust for power, the craving for vice, the temptation of wealth and to glorify it were all alive and well then too.

As Patrick Henry said, “There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations; and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave...”

As long as I have breath, I will seek to be those things and look to whom Henry called the God of Hosts for His assistance...and teach the same to my own and anyone who will give it ear.

Putin stopped. That is the point.

What Bush put into Georgia could not have hoped to stop him at the time. H had the power to roll right over Tiblisi and was pushing towards it to do so. But he knew Bush was serious, and would not let it stand and it would end up costing Putin and Russia too much.

Yes he took those two provinces...I grant that. And they are not going back. And that was a defeat for Georgia and the West.

But he also stopped short of taking the whole nation, and that was because of the things I said. That was a victory and I will sell THAT part of what happened for precisely what it was.

Similarly here in Ukraine. The US and the Ukraine, and Europe or NOT going to get the Crimea back. The Russians have long desired it back, and they in essence controlled it anyway. Now they have it and it is strategic to them.

But we can do things to save the rest of Ukraine...and it is in our interests to do so.

I do not say this because I believe Obama will ever do any such thing. The hard truth is that he himself is an enemy to this nation and desires this nation to humbled and laid low.

But that does not mean we stop talking abut what is right...and what we should do. Obama and his decrepit ilk will not always be there.

Don’t come here very often, but it is good to remember that Turkey in its old guise as the Ottoman EMpire was a sworn enemy of Russia.

Hence Turkey, taken in as a NATO member, is interested in maneuvering a situation to its advantage and since the current PM, Erdogan, is an Islamacist I suspect that THIS would be why Obama is marginally on the side of the protestors.

Only my theory, and I have no proof. I happened to see the link to this article on Twitter and thought I would see what you all had to say.

NONE of this would have happened if we did not have a weakened military and a president who goes around apologizing and then making trash talk about Putin, after which he makes stupid comments like a few lines in a speech or interview is going to change Putin’s mind.

I hope we survive the next 3 years.

It’s Rivne, not Vilno.
Vilno / Vilnius is in Lithuania, different country, but that ok, you’ll get it right next time.

What he’s asking from the council in this video is to criminalize the Communist Party and the party of Regions, demand for Communist/Regions to buy apartments for the families of three people who got killed on Maidan. If that’s the most “damning” request, then I’d say they got off light. Communist/Region government just killed 80 people, and retribution could have been much much worse, they could have made piñatas out of them. The only deaths of Communists/Regioners I recall took place in Kyiv on Feb 18 or 19 when protesters torched their office. Since then, mostly, it’s been public shaming. Occasionally, physical assaults and arson of party offices - charges which were committed by both sides. Klitchko’s Udar party got firebombed just couple of days ago in eastern Ukraine.

I don’t see the link of him smacking the guy around and don’t know the full background story to comment. Same with “anti-Polish, anti-Jew and anti-Polish Jew” charges, if he said or not. Publicly , the leader of the Right Sector, Yarosh, denounced antisemitism

You are on the side of McCain, Kerry, the MSM, Hillary, Soros, Obama, the EU leadership and bankers.

Forgot to add the Satan, The Lord of Darkness himself.

There have been a number of conservatives who criticized Obama's weakness in handling the Ukrainian crisis, this forum included.

Why do we want to stop Putin here? This isn’t the same. Crimea is Russian. Ukraine is the cradle of Russian civilisation and needs to be split in two.

Who cares what Ukrainians themselves want, right?

Putin understood Bush, Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld were NOT people to take lightly...

I doubt Putin feels the same about Obama, Biden, and Chuck Hagel...

Our military's great - they could do the job with the right team on top. But the right team's NOT on top. Our military also could have saved the men at Benghazi...

Jeff - remember Kerry - and how he acted during the Vietnam war? Kerry and Jane Fonda were two peas in a pod. Kerry today would have major say over 'war' strategy - and he's a friggin' pretty boy elite. His big threat to Putin this morning (on Sunday morning news shows) was that Putin wouldn't be invited to the A-List parties anymore if he didn't stop. Kerry hurt Putin alright. Putin fell to the floor and laughed so hard he couldn't catch his breath.
