Rand Paul calls on Ted Nugent to apologize for Obama jab
washington Times ^ | February 21, 2014 | Cheryl K. Chumley

Sen. Rand Paul said in a Twitter message that rocker-turned-activist Ted Nugent ought to apologize for making “offensive” remarks about President Obama.

Mr. Nugent made the media wave this week with an interview in which he described the president as a “subhuman mongrel,” right before he took to the campaign trail for Texas gubernatorial hopeful Greg Abbott. Mr. Abbott’s aides have since distanced their candidate from Mr. Nugent and quietly removed him from the campaign trail, Newsmax reported.

Late Thursday evening, Mr. Paul made his view of the situation clear.

In a tweet, he wrote: “Ted Nugent’s derogatory description of President Obama is offensive and has no place in politics. He should apologize.”

Mr. Paul wasn’t the only GOPer to weigh in. Sen. Ted Cruz said “of course” he didn’t agree with Mr. Nugent’s assessment of the president, The Hill reported. And Gov. Rick Perry said he didn’t like the use of the word “mongrel” to describe a president, The Hill said.

Mr. Nugent originally made the remarks in an interview with Guns.com. His full statement: “I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame, enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America.”

Sorry Charlie, he said the kind of thing you would have jumped down any RINO's throat and called it wishy washy.

If Paul was wrong, Cruz was wrong.

I agree with the “communist...communist...communist” part.

The “subhuman mongrel” part lessens his culpability. He’s fully human and responsible for all the damage he’s causing.

The time for polite conversation is past.

Long past. The devil, proud spirit, cannot endure to be mocked.

Is it impolite for Nugent to say what he said? Sure. So what? He is a private citizen. He has the right to say whatever he likes. Similar things were said about Lincoln, and W., and Reagan. Probably all presidents. Presidents are not gods from Mount Olympus. They are men, and they are subject to criticism, sometimes vile criticism. It goes with the territory. I think Paul should just stay out of it. Why bring attention to it? Why bring it into the political realm? Just let it be.

The article says Cruz agreed with Paul.

Do we have to give up on him too?

Well, I think if you read(the whole article) this article, you'll see that there is a not-too-subtle difference between how Ted Cruz handled this and how Rand Paul fumbled this:

Cruz disagrees with Nugent, but doesn't rule out campaigning with him

Rand Paul would be reduced to a quivering mass if he were to hear the things that I regularly say about the Narcissistic Little Marxist bastard and the First Ingrate.

We disagree. You may be right, I may be wrong. Regardless, I wish I had Nugent’s courage.

Actually there's not a whole lot of difference, and you'd be jumping down his throat for this if he was a RINO.

If he runs, I'll be looking forward to your further double standards concerning what he says and does.

I love Ted Cruz, donated heavy to his senate run, I want him to win the nomination, expect him to win, I just don't pretend he will have to be pure as the wind driven snow to do so.

I tell ya, that Ted Nugent - what an evil b@st@rd. First he screws up our health care system, then he obfuscates on all these scandals - Fast & Furious, Benghazi, the IRS. Yeah, Ted Nugent is a real problem. He needs to apologize. /sarc

Just so I'm sure I've been clear:

The above should read - "The “subhuman mongrel” part lessens OBAMA'S culpability. Obama’s fully human and responsible for all the damage he’s causing."
