Rand Paul calls on Ted Nugent to apologize for Obama jab
washington Times ^ | February 21, 2014 | Cheryl K. Chumley

Sen. Rand Paul said in a Twitter message that rocker-turned-activist Ted Nugent ought to apologize for making “offensive” remarks about President Obama.

Mr. Nugent made the media wave this week with an interview in which he described the president as a “subhuman mongrel,” right before he took to the campaign trail for Texas gubernatorial hopeful Greg Abbott. Mr. Abbott’s aides have since distanced their candidate from Mr. Nugent and quietly removed him from the campaign trail, Newsmax reported.

Late Thursday evening, Mr. Paul made his view of the situation clear.

In a tweet, he wrote: “Ted Nugent’s derogatory description of President Obama is offensive and has no place in politics. He should apologize.”

Mr. Paul wasn’t the only GOPer to weigh in. Sen. Ted Cruz said “of course” he didn’t agree with Mr. Nugent’s assessment of the president, The Hill reported. And Gov. Rick Perry said he didn’t like the use of the word “mongrel” to describe a president, The Hill said.

Mr. Nugent originally made the remarks in an interview with Guns.com. His full statement: “I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame, enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America.”

Rand Paul needs to STFU.

He really rubs me the wrong way from time to time.

"Gov. Rick Perry said he didn’t like the use of the word “mongrel” to describe a president,..."

I see what you did there! HA!

As for RP...shut up! A private citizen voicing his opinion is still a freedom we have...for a while anyway.

Gov. Rick Perry said he didn’t like the use of the word “mongrel” to describe a president

Why not? BHO said that of himself. Ted was simply continuing with the (apt) description.

Tell him... ‘RIGHT... when Liberals apologize for the slander, lies and other shabby statements they made about President Bush, for 8 YEARS - and counting!’

Rand Paul is getting to be more and more like his father. He criticizes conservatives and honest citizens. He does nothing in Washington to stop the corruption in government, the IRS abuses etc.

Ted Nugent is right on target.

I think Rand Paul needs to apologize to Ted Nugent for trying to suppress his first amendment rights - something Paul swore to defend.

Pathetic . . . I’m beginning to lower my opinion of Rand Paul considerably. First of all, every word is true. Second, Nugent left out the foreign-born illegal alien part. Third, compare any of that with the outrageous and highly offensive stuff said about us and the Tea Party members.

Hey, Nugent! Spit in their eye!

Love Ted Nugent and all that jazz but this is the risk you run when you aks him to campaign for you.

If you're not prepared to deal with his frankness, don't invite him.
