Senator Ted Cruz Came In Like A Wrecking Ball
blog.chron.com ^ | 2/14/14 | Kathleen McKninley

Chris Cillizz at the Washington Post says, ”Ted Cruz isn’t planning to be in the Senate for very long.” I think Chris is 100% right. I think Ted Cruz will finish blowing up things in the Senate just in time for a 2016 run for the Presidency. If the right wanted someone to come in, and not only fight the Democrats and their liberal agenda, but stick their nose up at GOP leadership, they couldn’t have asked for more than Ted Cruz is giving.

Chris goes on:

By forcing the Senate to round up 60 votes to end debate and force a final vote on a clean increase of the debt ceiling, Cruz knowingly complicated things for the top two Republicans in the chamber — Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) and Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn (Texas). Both men face primary challenges from their ideological right and neither relished the idea of helping break a filibuster for a debt ceiling increase with no Republican proposals attached.

Here’s how the Wall Street Journal’s conservative op-ed page described what Cruz did:

“We’re all for holding politicians accountable with votes on substantive issues, but Mr. Cruz knew he couldn’t stop a debt increase the House had already passed. He also had no alternative strategy if the bill had failed, other than to shut down the government again, take public attention away from ObamaCare, and make Republicans even more unpopular.”

Wrecking balls are used to tear down decrepit or unwanted structures, so something better can be built. Although it may be too late.

“He also had no alternative strategy if the bill had failed, other than to shut down the government again, take public attention away from ObamaCare, and make Republicans even more unpopular.”

This sentence reeks of abject stupidity and dishonesty. The FACT of the matter is that the “Shutdown” last fall was completely, totally and thoroughly designed and implemented by BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA and Harry Reid. No one else.

To even suggest that TED CRUZ or the republicans had anything at all to say about it, is sheer nonsense. Those in the Media that perpetuate this LIE need to be called on it every time that they repeat it.

Cry me a river Kathleen. The DC establishment needs nothing if not a wrecking ball.

America is done. After the collapse that is surely coming, Bastions of freedom will rise in some free states here-and-there, along with communist states where the public has allowed themselves to be disarmed. Almost guaranteed!

In hind sight the shutdown worked in our favor, it brought attention once again to the Democrats being solely responsible for forcing Obamacare on the people over the objections of Republicans who were willing to shut down the government to stop it (IF the people supported them)

The Republicans relented because the PEOPLE didn’t support them. If polls had shown even 60% of the public supporting the shutdown. Either Obamacare would be repealed by now the government would STILL be shut down.

In the end it was the majority of the American people who let us down.

I disagree.

I believe that the “reports” that the American People did not support the “shutdown” were fabricated. Just like the “reports” that say that We wouldn’t support the Impeachment and Removal of Obama from office.

Try to be wise. The liberal media is a machine that when turned on will kick into high gear to shape public opinion, in other words to ‘program’ minds.

The idea is to spread a false story and whip up a frenzy, then poll selected groups to reinforce the false narrative. The NY - DC nexus of media and lobbyists do this programming very well. It is their weapon of choice.

The good news is that this weapon is aging and is increasingly ineffective although you would not think so if you listened to their reports.

I know personally from contacts overseas that the consensus of media opinion in Europe and UK was that republicans were winning in the showdown last Fall. The NY media is losing its power.

well... assuming you are correct, then the people are STILL at fault.

The majority can't sit at home and “hope” for change, they must march to Washington and DEMAND change!

If I fault Cruz for anything it's not advocating for millions of conservatives to march on Washington and DEMAND our freedom from this socialist tyrant.

The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza laid blame for Obama’s failures on just about everything except the President himself: “I actually think that problem is even more exacerbated now because of the rapidity of the news cycle, because of Twitter, because of sort of YouTube, because of all of the ways in which you can get distracted and off message and being forced to respond to things.”

http://newsbusters.org/people/chris-cillizza#ixzz2tP4zIg28

took the liberal media roughly 30 minutes to begin what will no doubt be an onslaught against the former presidential candidate, with the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza offering all the reasons why Perry “shouldn’t run for president again.”

Washington Post’s Cillizza Confesses: ‘I Can’t Get Enough of Hillary Clinton’

Host Andrea Mitchell imagined Obama declaring: “I’m the big sheriff in town.” The Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza gushed: “Well, I mean, look, this is – if there’s ever a time where you can say, ‘I have been validated’....It’s sort of like, ‘I won, deal with this reality, and let’s move forward.’”

So, this quote is from the Karl Rove planted WSJ gOpE-enabling editorial but overly emotional Kathleen takes it in a vain (and lame) attempt to bash Senator Ted Cruz by assigning false motives to his actions. Hey, Kathleen, check out what Cornyn said on the Senate floor ... "We have a moral obligation to deal with our debt." This is exactly what Ted Cruz attempted to do! Not for personal gain, but moral obligation! Unfortunately, he wasn't supported by either of the two-faced GOP Senators McConnell and Cornyn.

But let's also unpack these stupid liberal talking points in the WSJ editorial that has given Kathleen the vapors, in all her hand-wringing agony.

other than to shut down the government again,

Child, please. First, the GOP didn't shut down the government. What was attempted was a moral obligation to deal with the debt by deferring implementation of the biggest economy and job-killer going ... 0bamacare. 0bama said no and chose to shut down the government rather than do the right thing. Funny thing is, just a few months later he takes the unconstitutional unilateral action of doing just what he chose to 'shut down' the government over mere months previously. And don't forget about all of his shut down actions intentionally inflicting pain on citizens, taxpayers and Veterans! The liberals said a government shutdown was Armageddon. It was a fart in the wind even with 0bama's petty actions! Republicans should want to talk about this issue in the press, not run from it!

take public attention away from ObamaCare,

Good grief what mamby pamby nonsense! For all the reasons above, this is not negative issue for Republicans! And we can do BOTH! This takes NOTHING away from the public's attention on 0bamacare. It's pain continues to make regular news. The only thing that takes attention away from it is when 0bama continues to defer its implementation so that the pain isn't fully inflicted until after elections.

and make Republicans even more unpopular.”

Oh, the hugh manatee! Unpopular! We can't have that! Cry me a river!!! WSJ and Kathleen - get a clue! Republicans are not popular in this DNC-run media whether they are Ted Cruz or John McCain. Whoever gets the GOP POTUS nomination ... whether McQueeg, Mitty or Ted Cruz, will be transformed into Attila the Hun who could care less about the 'middle class' (meaning not the middle class but the "victims" whom the liberals have subjected to their vicious cycle of dependency).

but Mr. Cruz knew he couldn’t stop a debt increase the House had already passed.

Wow. So impressive. Such leadership. We are in deep trouble if this is our impressive knight in shining armor. What happened to fighting the other way to ensure that the debt ceiling wasn’t raised. Just because he says he wasn’t for it is not enough.

I wished the people of Virginia had felt that way. The Democrats won everything shortly after the shutdown.
