You do not want to be the dealer who's product is found in the syringe that's found in the arm of the dead high-profile smack-head.

Apparently the detectives found 70 bags of heroin on him...he was nothing more than a rich junkie.

Wasn’t he injecting Heroine laced with Fentanyl? Seems I read that somewhere. I’d never heard of the guy before this happened.

I heard that, but I didn't think it was for sure.

Fentanyl is nothing to fool with. It's believed to be what killed around 130 hostages when it was used (in vapor form) during the Moscow Theater Hostage Crisis in October 2002. It would seem that mixing it with smack would be playing Russian Roulette with three rounds in the cylinder.

As far as Philip Seymour Hoffman goes, I think I had heard his name, but I got him mixed up with those other three-named male movie stars, like David Ogden Stiers and David Hyde Pierce.

I had to look around on YouTube to find out that he was the ultra-yes-man who worked for The Big Lebowski.

I think he didn't become a household name until he played the title role in Capote.

PSH was a drug user, died of his own actions. So the cops step up enforcement actions against the specific dealer who sold him the drugs. But they do absolutely zero when some poor black kid dies of an overdose.

He was a talented actor; he was a junkie, but more than just that. God help his family.

No, he was a junkie who happened to be an actor.

No sympathy here.

"So the cops step up enforcement actions against the specific dealer who sold him the drugs. But they do absolutely zero when some poor black kid dies of an overdose."

From the article: "Sources also tell us … someone involved in the heroin market in NYC contacted police and gave them the names and addresses of two alleged drug dealers who pushed the drug.." What do you want the police to do, ignore the informant's tip because the victim was famous?

The police were very actively seeking the dealer, so tips were called in.

This never happens when ordinary folks OD on heroin.

They just pick up the body and make another entry in the database.

That makes two of us. The "media" was reporting this like it was the end of the world. I had to come here and wait for someone to post his picture. When they did, I still didn't recognize him. LOL! I've got to catch up on my "pop culture" stuff, I guess.

There was no fentanyl in the drugs left over, nor in his body.

Apparently it was not fentanyl tainted.

You can bet there will be lots of applause at the award shows when his name is mentioned but near silence for any normal person who is an actor that passed away. If the police want to catch dealers they just need to hang around the studios...

No sympathy here.

No, none here either. He made his choices, paid the price. He was also pro gun-control, favored confiscation, no private ownership etc. I wish he were still alive so I could ask him just how he thought making firearms illegal would keep weapons out of the hands of criminals when making heroin illegal obviously wasn't stopping him from obtaining it...

Exactly, do not sell to famous people!
