Tuesday night live on C-SPAN, President Obama outlines his agenda for the coming year when he delivers his fifth State of the Union Address before a Joint Session of Congress.
Leading up to the President's speech, C-SPAN sets the scene from the White House and Capitol Hill with perspectives from Former Speechwriter to President Obama Jon Lovett, Senate Historian Don Ritchie, and Gallup Editor in Chief Frank Newport.
Following the State of the Union, House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) delivers the Republican response. McMorris Rodgers is in her fifth term representing Washington’s Fifth District.

That’s insane. Afghanistan gives us two choices. Stay forever in a meatgrinder, or leave and watch it remain a moslem corrupt evil hellhole.
Its a fantasy that staying another month, year, or decade will ever make them into a human nation. Continuing to fight to give past casualties “meaning” is the very worst reason for staying I can imagine.
To be fair, Obama’s speech, if spoken continuously, would have been much shorter without Clapapalooza going on constantly. I hate the constant interruptions for clapping. It turns the State of the Union into a pep rally.
Amen. I have sat thru speech that lasted a hour or more in person, that could have been easily done in 20 minutes, tops(based on a transcript published later). I left the room not having a clue what they said.
