Michelle Obama is getting a new ally in her campaign to get kids to eat more fruits and vegetables.
The first lady was expected to announce Thursday that the Subway sandwich chain will spend $41 million over three years to encourage finicky young eaters to eat more food that comes out of the ground or grows on trees. The announcement was being made at a Subway shop near the White House.
Subway will only offer a kids' menu that mirrors federal standards for school lunches. That includes offering apples on the side and low-fat or nonfat plain milk or water as a default beverage....

they lost me when they started using sliced meat that was sliced in a factory somewhere weeks before using it in a sandwich.
In stead of slicing it off a big ole piece as you use it.
Have never really been thrilled about Subway in general. This just seals the deal.
Time to cut down on fast food more me anyway and get back to more fruits and vegetables. And I don’t need the FLOTUS to tell me that.
She needs to hit Obamabots where it hurts ...Popeyes, KFC, etc. I’m not being racist — this is reality. As a nurse the FIRST thing I’d see these folks bring into the hospital usually, even if they’re dying of strokes or heart attacks is CHICKEN, deep, heavily fried, and lots of it.
Rats. I have been eating there once a week average for years. bye bye It’s sad because these are individual franchises. I like my little store and the people who run it and work there.
Don’t think I’ll be eating at any restaurant that marches in formation with Michelle Obama.
This will be the death of them.

With Blimpies, Mikes Subs, and Firehousse Subs none of which have Mrs Obama on them. I will buy my sandwich’s elsewhere thank you very much.

Watch for the immediate push for Subway to take EBT at all locations, after Americans with JOBS stop eating there.
Fortunately, there are other choices. Had the hankering for a sub yesterday and went to a local place owned by second/third generation Vietnamese. Part of one of those rare convenience stores w/o a gas station and called “Overstuffed Subs”. Great selection and they really lay on the ingredients - the shrimp poorboy is a real treat.

There is a reason they keep pushing heating up their crap sandwiches...it softens up their old bread.
I bought one years ago,didn’t have it warmed up, picked it up to eat it and the crust literally fell apart. Never went back.

One more reason not to eat at Subway. Years ago, I ate there semi-regularly. I haven’t eaten there (with one set of exceptions) since they attacked homeschoolers some years back.
Ya know......you gotta question the wisdom and foresight of the the “Subway” management group, especially the idiots that got in bed with Black racist, Michelle Obama. It goes without saying that “Subway” will never get another penny from me to support their business!!! And....I & my family have been a loyal customer of “Subway” for years!!! Just feel so sorry for all the franchise holders of “Subway” sandwich stores, that will being taking negative hits to their pocketbooks and bottom line because of the association of the parent company with low life, America hater, Michelle Obama. Somebody upstairs in the “Subway” executive group has been smoking reefer, is drunk, just plain dumb or, is far from the sharpest knife in the drawer. Fools & idiots combined!!! Bye!!!
