the purity loons

Oh, you mean like those lousy knuckle dragging Freepers, flag waving gun nuts, and Tea baggers? Those "purity loons"?

Gotcha.

Wow, you obviously parachuted in from DU.

You might want to tell that to Jim Rob. I've had a seat in his house since 2007, and have never once been asked to leave.

You, on the other hand, sound like a Rovebot.

I have called Cornyn’s office.

I called him the morning of the expected vote to fund Obamacare.

I called every one of his offices at ten in the morning.

No answer.

Not busy; NO answer.

That tells me all I need to know about that pasty man.

Called Cruz’ office immediately, to tell them Cornyn’s office wasn’t answering, that I knew how Cruz was going to vote.

Then he took over.

And Cornyn still voted to fund it.

He runs ads in Texas as a conservative. He is dishonest. and he is not conservative.

Get him out of there!

...with respect, old John has served two terms and is a lawyer...............notwithstanding the merits or demerits of his voting record, that’s two objective strikes against him right there................

He can head on back to texas and work for a living. Pettling his accrued influence, he can make millions.

.........Let’s not talk out of both sides of our mouth about term limits!

And, yes I know Cruz is a lawyer. But, I will be against him seeking a third term too, when and IF the time comes.

He MADE A DEAL with Harry Reid to talk for a pre-determined period of time on the floor of the Senate. Rand Paul was against the government shutdown to defund it and spoke out against it all over the place.
//////////////////

So, . . . You make it sound like it was not important or effective when he spoke on the floor of the Senate for some twenty-plus hours? From my perspective, it riveted the country’s attention on the Obamacare issue like no other Senator or Representative was able to do.

Cornyn stayed away from that event, too, by the way. He later said it was because he didn’t want to take away from Ted Cruz’s moment. Somehow, that rings false, when a number of other Republican Senators saw fit to share the dais for a time with Cruz in support of Cruz’s stand.

Besides, when did Cornyn ever “make a deal” with Reid to talk for a similar period of time — on ANYTHING?

For instance, why did Cornyn not make such a deal with Reid to protest the impending vote to repeal DADT in the military. Guess it was just not that big a deal to “conservative” Cornyn.

As the other FReeper pointed out, Cornyn has not “led the charge” on much of anything of importance to true conservatives.

In my view, Cornyn is passive; he is a wallflower; he is Mr Go-along-to-get-along. I have complained more than once to his staff regarding the fact that he is generally nowhere on the news. Compare that to some of his Senate colleagues (in both parties) who make it a point to get in front of a camera on a regular basis.

Don’t get me wrong: Cornyn would be a hero, were he representing Rhode Island or Delaware.

Unfortunately, he seems to have forgotten that he is representing Texas, and I view him as a marshmallow who needs to be primaried with vigor.

Wait a minute...Cornyn "is like Orrin Hatch." You mean the Orrin Hatch Sarah Palin endorsed, campaigned & fundraised for? That Orrin Hatch? Well, he's not as strong as I'd like (I prefer Mia Love), but if he's good enough for Sarah, he's okay by me.

It might interest you to know that a few months ago at a fundraiser in Hollywood, both Jeffrey Katxzenberg and Harvey Weinstein said they'd spend whatever amount it took to destroy Mitch McConnell so Hillary wouldn't be troubled by him. They're the money behind his opponent. You must be working for them.

Shame on you (and me) for “tying up his phones!” (per Deb).

Why don’t you (and I) know Mr Cornyn is already plenty busy talking with the “really important” people, like lobbyists and liberal Senators? :-)

Haha, your statements on Orrin are a little out of date. Mark Levin also endorsed Orrin during his reelection and has since completely disowned him as a traitor. During the time since that election, he has attempted to organize the ousting of Mike Lee in Utah and also signed on to anti-free speech discrimination laws. He didn’t even have the nerve to vote during the Cruz filibuster.

I’m sure you’re all aboard the re-elect McLame train.

Give it a rest. I don't fault Cruz for making his deal with Harry Reid and I don't fault Cornyn for "staying away too long" or whatever the Hell you said. That's REALLY a stupid reason to try to throw away such a good man.

I respect ANYONE who's willing to leave their business and serve as a Republican in Washington considering they're attacked and mocked relentlessly every day by the culture, the Democrats, the Commie Left and now the purity jerks on the Right.

The Left NEVER attacks their own side. They form coalitions. We form factions and delight in destroying our guys viciously and publicly. We really are The Stupid Party.

So Sarah has denounced Hatch? I missed it. When did she take back her endorsement?

Once again...Ted Cruz DID NOT conduct a filibuster. He made a deal with Harry Reid to talk for a certain amount of time and then "surrender the floor". Which he did. Like a good boy. Which I do not fault him for.

In the future I'll try to listen to Mark Levin closer so I'll know what to think...even though he frequently gets his facts wrong and has to apologize.

That’s setting the bar pretty low.

The GOP fan club has no bar. They just can’t wait to tell us why we must have amnesty, a crushing increase in legal immigration, a cut in vet retirement pay, etc., etc.

Exactly. They goosestep to the party line. However fascist it may be. So don’t lecture conservatives about purity when the Dems seem to be doing just fine with it.

The problem with the GOP is that progressive Republicans simply refuse to be an engaged opposition party. Until that changes, they will continue to lose. Have fun cheering those losers on, I won’t be.

I sent three emails to Cornyn about 3 years ago. Didn’t get one answer. Apparently they didn’t like what I had to say.
