My guess, as well. If there is a "not guilty" verdict, it makes getting a civil judgment more difficult. If it was a guilty verdict, the only real issue i a civil action is the amount of damages.
It was said that both sides presented the same tapes of the beating and both sides saw what they wanted ti see.
Thomas, from a video, was often out of control, a big string man. Not, the harmessless transient that was being presently.
Maybe the jury had enough people who have been threatened by or scared of a mentally ill homeless person.
I happened to be working at home and watched the entire Louise Woodward trial on Court TV. Couldn’t believe they found her guilty. I never watched trials after that.
-In other news; the anal probe/ colonoscopy victim of the Deming, New Mexico police department has been awarded $1,600,000 out of court.
-the city won't discuss the settlement of course, and it's not known what, if any punishment will be administered to the officers involved in this anal rape case.
Then they lied in their jury interviews and should not have been on the jury.

I was in the jury pool and was called to the jury box along with 16 others. After questioning by the attorneys two jurors were dismissed for cause. Then the attorneys started dismissing jurors with peremptory chalanges. I was the first one dismissed py the prosecution. I think only a few were dismissed before the jury was accepted.
I read the detailed reports of each day of the trial. I would not have voted not guilty on all charges. At the very least it was use of excessive force. I think the prosecution made a mistake by kicking me off the jury.
I would not have voted guilty on second degree murder.
Does anyone know exactly what they were charged with??
Were they charged with Excessive Use of Force???
