missing the point. 90 per cent of adhd “symptoms” are normal behavior. 10 year old boy fidgets while sitting 8 hours in one place. no friggin kidding.
I may do my thesis on adhd is an excuse to tranquilize a good portion of the white Christian male population.

Actually, 90% of ADHD symptoms are lousy diet. Fill a kid up on starch and sugar and he’ll be hyper for an hour then grouchy and irritable for two. We need to get over our phobia about fat and return to feeding our kids actual food.

Don't forget the access to pot we can now drug them up with in some states. Ain't this a wonderful country?

"normal behavior"

Ditto. You're taking young boys who were meant to be active, making them sit in a desk for eight hours, and a number of them won't be disruptive? My belief is ADHD and Ritalin are means for educators, who don't understand young boys, to "quiet" said young boys. While I didn't disrupt classes in grade school, I barely paid attention to my teachers. Too boring. The only thing I liked about school was the library and recess. I did manage to read a lot of the books in the school library.

Sounds to me like they’re forcing kids to take pills to cure childhood...

I’ve always thought that Ritalin was a substitute for providing discipline and the vigilance that needs to go with it.

I also think that those who so freely dispense drugs like this to children will hamper their freedom of choice in the future.

This government is intent on mind control and behavior modification of its population. The day will come when past prescriptions for drugs like this will be use to disqualify the individual for certain things, say guns, for one.

exactly. Too many teachers urged parents to have their kids checked out and parents fell for it. Doctors should be taken to task for this fake diagnosis. Now autism has taken the place of ADHD as the diagnosis du jour and ADHD isn’t “cool” anymore. sigh....

My momma fed us chocolate gravy on bread, then turned us lose on the schools.

Other kids showed no interest in learning because they thought the only work out there was to be a dirt poor farmer like their dads. They were too poor to leave the area.

ADD / ADHD rates also skyrocketed when schools started getting rid of recess and limiting physical activity in PE.
