I’m equally tempted to be vindictive, but try very hard not to be. One of the very few things I agree with liberals about is redemption.
As a Christian, I believe that even the most heinous crime can be forgiven. Maybe not by me - I’m not always able to find that much compassion in myself - but certainly by God. That does not mean that there should be no punishment for a crime. I think all three perps in this case should be locked up for a very, very long time.
I agree with you 100%. Believing in redemption does not mean one is a bleeding heart liberal who does not support having the punishment fit the crime.
As far as not always being able to find enough compassion in yourself to forgive, I’m in the same place you are - but I keep trying, and I hope you will too.

I'm all for redemption. Many folks experience conversion of heart as they await their hanging.
