It has to be the parent who leads by example.

My point was that MOTHER isn't the leader. It's the father who is the leader. Doesn't matter if MOTHER goes to Church because families do what FATHER does. It's probably part of our species' make up.

If it were true of "parent" and mother could be part of that equation, then our country wouldn't be in this faith mess. We are a country of fatherless boys/girls and THAT is the crux of the problem--so it's FATHER who leads, whether good or bad.

Well, in the end, I believe in SOME of what I read so it's mine own opinion, Biggirl, that's all. :o)

The irony of it all was that the slight increase in heat produced by that petroleum facility most likely improved the survival rate of caribou calves and other game, thereby increasing the food supply for the wolves and bears.

Too many times, it’s the mother who is doing the spiritual towing of the family.
It should be the father doing the leading and discipleship.

While 86 percent of Americans say they plan to attend a gathering of family or friends on Christmas Eve or Christmas and purchase presents for loved ones, only 54 percent plan to attend a religious service over the holiday that theologically observes the birth of Jesus Christ.

What's a "religious service"? One doesn't have to attend a worship service at a church on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day to acknowledge that Christmas as the birthday of Jesus Christ.

Yep, because the perception is that, faith is often a part of a woman’s life. When a man goes to church and in a special way, a father, he is taking the “spiritual bull by the horns.”

> Gee, I can’t possibly imagine why.

Anytime the MSM puts percentages or polls in their articles its suspect and not to be taken as fact. Just view it as wishful thinking posted by a liberal and left controlled media.

It cannot hurt. It is as the famous Christmas “Oh Come All Ye Fathful” realizes.

My parents were both raised Catholic but lied to me about what they believed and only occasionally went to church. So I guess my own non-belief really isn’t too surprising.

Words of great wisdom.

I don’t know if that is true or not but I certainly wouldn’t believe PBS on the matter.

Yet come Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, the churches GET PACKED BIGTIME. People HUNGER for what is timely and true.

Many just go to 'see and be seen'.

We are a nation of TOO MANY divorced people, with WAY TOO MANY fatherless children. Therein lies the problem, I believe.

You are so right . . . which is why I generally endorse the militant Catholic stance against divorce. If you can suck it up and work it out until the children are grown and out of the house, you've saved an entire generation. Plus, chances are, the idea that divorce is a solution has generally faded.

Yeah, I understand there are situations where it is unavoidable including infidelity and physical violence. But the vast majority of divorces these days are some selfish reason which boils down to "he/she doesn't meet my needs anymore!"

Buy a damn clue. Once you get married and especially add children to that marriage, it isn't about you anymore.

Another anti-Christian poll...and that's all it is.....some kind of PROOF that we are no longer a Christian Nation.

Except....we are!!

Merry Christmas and God Bless America.

You can watch “Christmas Movies” on cable TV for 28 straight days and not hear God, Jesus or the Nativity mentioned once.

They, instead, espouse the religion of diversity and Islam. It is Allah’s divine will.

I didn't know that Muslims, as a ethno-religious group, finance and lead groups like the ACLU, SPLC, the People for the American Way, the American Humanist Association, and have a significant presence in CONgress and the Supreme Court.

Our church will be overflowing. These numbers seem to be underestimates.
