What do they think “austerity” means? Here’s a hint: It’s NOT Latin for “cut everbody else’s but leave mine alone”.

You have my permission to call it austerity, when 75% of Welfare has been cut. Until then we’re just kidding ourselves. This is merely an excuse to dismantle what is right and wholesome in the U. S.

This isn’t a case of “cut everything else but leave mine alone”

They are not cutting the vast fakers getting disability payments, or the massive welfare money tree. I could insert many govt programs that are draining our tax dollars.

When those programs are cut, then I will be ok with this baloney.

I think the US should pay all the money we owe, and stop borrowing against the future, and stop promising things that we can’t afford.

Sure that would inflate the currency for a bit. But active soldiers should not have COLA. They would have a choice to leave the service, and get other jobs.

SS should be closed down with every person who paid in getting a voucher or note for their share. Then we stop claiming that future contributions will lead to owning a future share. RAther, we should end the payroll tax. Same with Medicaid/medicare.
