- Majority of people (84%) would be willing to share their personal health information to advance and lower costs in the health care system

- More than 70% of people are receptive to using toilet sensors, prescription bottle sensors and swallowed health monitors

- 72% of those surveyed would be willing to see a doctor via video conference for non-urgent appointments

- 66% of people say they would prefer a care regimen that is designed specifically for them based on their genetic profile or biology

I do NOT believe it.

There’s either something wrong with the sample or the survey was somehow skewed gain in.

“Intel Health Innovation Barometer was conducted online by Penn Schoen Berland in Brazil, China, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan and the United States. It was conducted among a representative sample of 12,000 adults aged 18 and older with a margin of error of +/- 0.89 percentage points.”

THIS explains it, it’s a “global poll of adults” — mostly of people who are clueless about the current state of US healthcare.

I am very skeptical of these results. Especially, that bit about “toilet sensors.” What the hell are toilet sensors, anyway?

There isn’t going to be any medical care for the workers and peasants. They’ll be content with socialist so-called “health care.” Genuine medical care is strictly reserved for the self-appointed better people.

error of +/- 0.89 percentage

That sounds good but statistics do NOT give answers in large complex populations. But a number is a number and we always believe a number because it is a number.

And the DIY colonoscopy.

They just about have that with the swallowed video cameras. My dad had one of those when the doctor was looking for bleeding in the small intestine. About the only thing it can't do is take a biopsy if something looks suspicious.

The cost of computer chips is getting so low. They want to put sensors everywhere.

The toilet sensors would be looking for cancer in your #1 and #2.

To me its not a bad idea.

I have a big problem with uploading my personal health information to an Internet database. I feel it will provide no benefit to me, but only be used against my interest.

Agree. As long as individuals have the option of not having their information transmitted anywhere, this evolution can only be a good thing. Technology is good (for the most part), except when it is used against people by govt.

An online poll? 12,000 respondents from 8 countries with a combined population of how many BILLIONS?

Uh, yeah. Okay.
