I think you’re right. It would take many thousands of operators to control all those drones on the round trips. Not to mention facilities, overhead etc. The cost of that many people would be enormous.
The skies will be black with drones. Like massive flocks of Canadian geese heading south for winter.

Did you see the whole 60 Minutes segment with Bezos? I DVRed for the drones, but the entire segment is well worth watching.
Fascinating, especially their current warehousing and distribution methods. I had no idea!

Can you tell if the link I posted is the entire Bezos segment-—or just the drone part?
Bezos said drone delivery is at least 5 yrs away, but at least as fascinating (to me anyway) is what came before the drone discussion.

It’s the entire segment and very interesting.
I’m a Prime member and buy as much as I can on Amazon. It’s cheaper, faster and they have almost everything. My paper recycling bin is full of boxes every week.

My uncle, Dad’s brother, passed away this morning and we were just notified by family in Atlanta, so I’ve been making travel reservations for Dad to leave Harrisburg on Friday and return from Atlanta on Saturday.
Never did online reservations before. Haven’t flown since ‘96, and companies (Hertz RAC, several ad agencies) I worked for in NYC in 70s & 80s had travel agencies internally, which took care of all that stuff for exec staff. It’s been real hectic here, coordinating details, for the past 2hrs.
