Wow. Just wow.
Remember, this is who the GOP leadership is paying big bucks. This is who the GOP leadership is listening to after they have had a few drinks.
Truth cannot be violated - the Law of Non-contradiction basically says that that contradictory statements cannot both be true in the same sense at the same time.
Reagan chose the correct course on issues (economic, military, social) because he was dealing with God given Truth. It drove his politics.
The "new" GOP is whispering in our ear that we must abandon all that is right, just, and true - because maybe (just maybe) we might get 270 Electoral Votes in 2016.
Here is how I would answer them on just a few issues:
- Amnesty is wrong: you do NOT reward millions of invading law breakers with citizenship, Food Stamps, TANF Welfare, and "free" medical care, instead, you make those who broke your laws pay the consequences
- The US global economic and political strength is directly tied to our military might, break the neck of the latter (as we are doing at warp speed), and the former two pillars will collapse
- You cannot separate "social conservatism" from "economic conservatism" because God will not reward a nation that murders it's unborn, applauds sexual filth, and spits in the face of the Almighty
Today, our GOP leaders are gutting the military, refusing to take a stand on Biblical Truth, and are flirting with Amnesty.
These Republican strategists have got to be the most stupid, tone deaf individuals in American politics. They might as well be DemocRats because all they push is right wing Progressives, kissing cousins of the left wing Progressives and Leftists in the DemocRat party, that control their mindless minions.
Pretty much, the equivalent of the Constitution is dead, move on.
The grasstoots Conservatives have spoken over and over, loudly and clearly, and in their face and yet...they still write stupid books no one wants and no one will buy and left wing publishers continue to pay them for it hoping to change our minds. They don’t get it. The harder they try, the more we resist, and the more attractive we become to others who have just had it with these losers.
Why should we listen to a strategist that got his ass kicked in 2008?
According to the article, numnuts wrote his book using football as a metaphor... then titled it “hail mary”, a reference to a last ditch, desperation play used when you are behind in the final seconds and have no other options for victory because you played a losing game up until that point. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn’t.
Sounds about right for someone who worked on the McCain campaign.
FDR is dead — but the ‘Rats keep doubling down on FDR’s misdeeds.
I’d like to write the appendix to this book. I’d call it “It’s Stupid To Punt On First Down.”
The man who ran John McCains losing campaign is telling us how to lose another one.
Republicans will get over Reagan as soon as the Democrats get over JFK.
I dunno. Science has come a long way.
“Ford O’Connell, who worked on Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) 2008 presidential campaign, says if Republicans want to win the White House in 2016, they need to break free of the “obsessive Reagan disorder.”
If Ford knows what it takes to win the white house, then why didnt mccain win?
Yeah, lets take advice from this loser.
Ahh another GOPe douche loser telling me what to think. How’s that working for you sparky?
Why would I want a repub to be president ? Bush was terrible. I want a America first or conservative.
All you have to do is read my tag line to explain it all.
If the GOP doesn’t run a conservative I just won’t vote for him.
They really don’t want to win.
Oh well!
Step 11. Nobody cares, Ford.
Step 12. No, seriously. You had so much the better ticket even then, and even more so now, that it’s not even funny. And you lost. Nobody you’re supposedly aiming this toward wants to hear anything more complicated from you than “Would you like fries with that?”
President Reagan’s articulation of conservatism was just as powerful as President Reagan the man. Conservatism wins every time the message is articulately conveyed.
That's because of people like O'Connell. The 2010 victories were driven by the Tea Party.
Reaganism lives.
Pretty sure this clown if around in 79/80 would have strongly advised against voting for Reagan.
