The easiest way for narcissism to disguise its self-centered nature without having to inspire any real world action is to effect a speech or write a book bearing the appearance of self deprecation while really only pointing the finger at others.
But narcissism’s most loyal companion is foolishness. This explains why the me generation is incapable of understanding that stealing virtue is a logical impossibility.
The wiles of evil are weird.
If you don’t have the love of God, evil will twist you up 8 ways from Sunday. You will not have any integrating view of what God desires to achieve and your foolish heart will be darkened. You’ll still chase virtues but in a discombobulated and self defeating way. And related to this is the adage that hypocrisy is the tribute that virtue pays to vice.
God would rather pity than censure the sinning soul, but the soul’s choice to come to Him is allowed to that soul.
ARGH. I’ve been rassling with the devil more than is good for me, perhaps. I mean hypocrisy is the tribute that VICE pays to VIRTUE.
My bad (happily it has gone to the Cross and I repent).
